What kind of cable do I need to make usb cables?
« on: Wed, 26 April 2017, 22:03:42 »
I am going to try my hand at making custom usb cables for myself and friends. I have found all the materials just been the actual cable. I'm not sure what type I would need. Thanks!

If you're asking about internal wires, pinout.ru gives you all the knowledge you need. Look at the bottom of this page to see how long you can have your cable given the gauge of the internal wires.
Also, since USB is a differential signal, data lines should be close, twisting the data wires (green and white ones) all the cable long is a good way to do that.
Finally, stick to the standard colours for wires.
