Rate Jumping
« on: Wed, 23 September 2015, 13:30:23 »
Hey. I have been using a wmo at 500hz for a while. Recently i was messing with some rate recording for fun and noticed that my mouse seems to jump between 250hz and close to 500hz. skipping what is in the middle. Is this normal? If not, does anyone know why this is and how it affects performance?

Hope i posted this in the right place. If questions like this aren't cool then delete the thread please  ;)

I'm no expert, but every mouse I've had since I had access to MouseMovementRecorder (4 mice) has had fluctuations like this. I hope it is normal!

EDIT: I will add that when I have swiped/tracked my mice quickly, I noticed my hz hovering very close to 500 with some fluctuation between 450~500.

i'm quite sure this is very normal. i remember finding some info about this stuff on overclock (Mice section)
i think there are a bunch of frequently-returning numbers, like 333, 250, 500, 1000, probably 125 as well.
some googling should probably give you a more official answer
