[IC] G60 Velora | Foamless, Gasket Mounted 60%
« on: Sun, 28 August 2022, 14:16:21 »

This is the G60 Velora.
A 60% keyboard designed around features often found in modern buildings (like stadiums, sport arenas etc) where
depth of layers is utilized to create interesting geometry.

With this inspiration I wanted to give the side profile the same impression and from there the design developed.
The weight was given the shape of a trophy due to the stadium / arena theme.

Mounting Style

This keyboard is gasket mounted and have been tested with plenty of gaskets with different properties to achieve what I think is a great sound and feel.
This keyboard is therefore sold without foam.

The only contact between the top and bottom of the case are these four ledges circled in the picture below.
For those of you who like to experiment with "force break modding" etc, 4pcs of 0.5mm custom adhesive gaskets is included which can be placed on those ledges.

Imagine living in a world where we have to specify which boards are foamless in the subject line  :-[

I like the inspiration. GLWIC

Very interesting design, it's a nice looking keyboard.

I submitted the IC but I'll add it here as well: please offer a HHKB top.

Great sounding board just from the snippet of the sound test on YouTube alone. My only gripe is that the alphas sounded a bit dull. The mods are amazing for a board that doesn't have foam in it though.

Any chance you would consider hotswap for the PCB for us non-soldering plebs?

Thank you! Yes sorry, I see I forgot to mention hotswap.
Hotswap will be available för both ANSI and ISO users, I updated the text and will add layout pictures soon.

Edit: Also added and clarified that PCB will be optional since you can use your own DZ60 (or similar) PCB. Plate files will also be released.

Like I said in the IC form, please add HHKB, and please add some aesthetic flair for personality to the top. However small it is.

Aren't the gaskets a type of foam?

Seems to be a lot of plate tabs with that hammerhead shape recently

Good luck with the IC though, looks like a sharp design (literally)
