Last one went for $250, so I can assume something similar for end price here. That's not a bid by the way... I already have one. GLWA, as if you need it.
I bet you have some other stuff I would be interested in though, you should get to thinning and add more stuff. :)

First off, the average red ESC key isn't doubleshot.
Second, all red ESC doubleshots are thin (unless Slaebo made some red ESC I don't know about)
Third, keycap "look", colour and Cherry Corp font.

In my opinion those differences are obvious as hell, but then again, I'm pretty good with small details...

This was manufactured by Cherry and was made using the same molds as their other DS caps. The difference is in the feel. Thicker caps IMO feel better then thin caps.

Cherry ones will never be made again since they discontinued doubleshot keycaps in 2009 and sold off all of thier production equipment. There is a good chance all of the original molds no longer exist either. Even then only so many were made first on limited edition wNv keyboard and another small run of just the esc key were made as a custom order. These are one of the rarest and most sought after Cherry doubleshot keycaps.

Added to my wish list.  I was wondering what what the big deal was with these.  I think that if I do ever get one of these I probably won't even put it on my keyboard.  I may have to lock it away in a safety deposit box somewhere.

As you can see, KBDMania actually tried to replicate it, http://i.imgur.com/Cl2n5.jpg.  It's not really even close.  Hashbaz, from geekhack, will be the closest it will get to these keys.  These can already be made since the legend mold is available from the Moogle kits?  and Cherry Replica Project.  You will have them done by Signature Plastic though, so they will be thin.

You can tell by the way the second mold is inserted(?) into the key.  If you look at Signature Plastics, the line is more uniformed.  I also saw a picture of QWERKeys, and it is kind of uniformed too.  Cherry's keys look a little messier, but it looks so perfect even then...

Also... that thickness and rarity of the key!

Of course, that original Esc key is really amazing.  No other "Esc" made will look as beautiful unless Cherry makes it again.  But after reading what lysol says, I'm not sure if that will happen.

I've given some of my stuff to friends although I still have some keyboards to let go but the shipping from Singapore would not be practical.

From what I know, Cherry no longer has the mold. Remaking it will be impossible.
The last I heard(a year or more ago) that someone from korean have paid for Cherry to remake a mold. I hope that big "ESC" keycap wasn't it...

Just like any custom or limited items. As mentioned before, Cherry cant never remake the same doubleshot as they do not have the mold.
It's just not cost-effective/profit-effective enough.

More pictures for the rest to enjoy.

IMO, CC caps are not as rare in that they could still be made.  The genuine Cherry Esc keycaps cannot be re-made, at least that is what we so believe.

Nah, CC's basically have been gouged to all hell based on a false sense of rarity, as opposed to these caps which are actually very, very rare (only two known production runs, both small). In the case of CC's, it's a restricted supply vs. crazy demand, as opposed to the vintage cap which has 'patina'.

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

I would estimate over 20 owners but how many they have hoarded is unknown. My best guess would be 40-50 at max.

Don't know about lister, but I have one already, as seen in the picture above, and here again.

Then again, that has never stopped me from getting 2 of everything.  May be this will be an exception.  The one I have is in a box.
