[GB] - Sadster Key
« on: Wed, 20 May 2015, 11:30:14 »
At KeyCon last week, Hashbaz, JD, and I were reminiscing about the good old days when the whole community got behind simple group buys for simple keys.  Particularly when we did the Russia key GB and we ordered well over a thousand keys for dirt cheap.  That got me thinking, what key can all of GH get behind, and like iMav whispered it in my ear, it came to me:

The Sadster

Profile: DCS R1 (Top Row)
Material: ABS

This will be a simple, fast group buy with one goal - to buy over 1000 keys.

Pricing:
250 = $1.05 each
500 = $0.61 each
1000 = $0.46 each
2500 = $0.37 each <-- (HOLY CRAP WE MADE IT)

Shipping:
Domestic = $4.50
International = $7.00

PayPal Fees:
Domestic = 2.9%
International = 3.9%

Join Now!  Will keep it open for about 2 weeks or until orders dwindle.

Love it.

In for 50.

Also may be worth clarifying where these will come from and material (SP, doubleshot ABS).

Well considering mine is already 100, it'll hit over 500, don't make me bump to 150!!!

A single key from SP? First in years, probably

lit drew the original hapster to mock Clack Insanity and Cherry red escape speculation. Not sure if a simple, throwback group buy for sadsters honors this legacy or falls under its criticism...  ???

The legend comes true!

What about doing Hapster GB for those who haven't got any yet?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

We should talk to bunny about doing some mini GB's with JTK, I'm sure that would be wildly popular with the GMK crowd. It's pretty much why I don't buy novelties anymore, no DCS sets to put the caps with.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

We should talk to bunny about doing some mini GB's with JTK, I'm sure that would be wildly popular with the GMK crowd. It's pretty much why I don't buy novelties anymore, no DCS sets to put the caps with.

I think you'll have to give him time to run a few keyset buys before he takes on novelties. But yea, that would be a good future idea :)

It's awkward being right on the border of all of these descriptions.  :))

I'm down for 100 if somebody takes them. I don't want 100 keycaps for a switch I'm never gonna use. So I'll sponsor somebody(or bodies)
