Oh gawd... Might want to buy that Exoskull but don't know if I shoouuuuuuuuuuld :S It would look so perfect on my Ducky Shine II w/ white LED. If I buy this and end up with buyer's remorse, you think they'll retain their value for resell? UGHHHH the woes of a poor man.

There are not many left...given the speed at which these are selling out I would tend to think they would hold their value if not go up.

Lol, pulled the trigger on Exoskull even before this answer but thanks for the heads up, dood. It's practically a Terminator keycap <3 It seems I'm the only one that likes the Exoskull one. LOL! Everyone else is grabbing the Butcher and Ancient.

GAWD I can't wait to see those eyes glow on the Ducky Shine II with the glowing/strobe effect!

How do you check the stock count of them?

Just realizing that my question was just answered indirectly. Boiler's status "techkeys.us"... Lol. I already put in an order for the Exoskull but might put in another order for the Ancient or Butcher before they sell out... I can only afford one more. They look so good!

Hehe, done! I should have! I bought/paid for The Ancient and came back to see your comment :P The Butcher would've been nice but The Ancient is just as cool; I love the fact that all 3 are cool in their own distinct styles!

Just found this video! After watching this video, I'm kind of glad I got The Ancient, looks so damn nice! Personally I would've preferred the horns to be pointy on The Butcher. Too bad The Maniac didn't get released :(

Get the ANCIENT one.  It's just a skull without the jaw bone piece.  It's a far better looking Skull than what's produced by the Click Clack Factory  8) .

But they should fit in the ESC position, right?

That is the ONLY place were they shall inhabit the keyboard.  A stern, serious, no crap taking position  8) .

What if you have more than one of them :o?

I know what is meant by the 'clear finished' comment , they don't look clean/shiny/new like Girldc's caps, these look a bit more rustic.

Ok pictures as requested by vesper, got a few shots jut now. I don't have anything backlit at the moment, I'm waiting on the phantom build! I didn't purchase the ancient, something about it I didn't like

You, good sir, are a bloody champion! Thank you for the awesome pictures and the explanation of the "clear finish"! Oh gawd, they are beautiful. You think that the "wet tissue" thing leesofi mentioned will work to make it bling better?

Your "Crappy LED shot" was awesome btw :P

It might clean them a bit, but I think that the process of creating the kecap has left battlescars on them. I don't really know how to describe it.
Not sure if this picture helps, you'll see for yourself soon enough :P

And btw, these are the boxes they came in.

These pictures... you torture me so sweetly. Lol! They definitely help. I can see the blemishes but "battle scar" may be the right way to put it. Like this:

Funny hearing everyone's opinions.  The ones some people love, others hate.  I personally think "the ancient" is the best.  And I'm sure MANY of you disagree with me.

Glad I got one before it sold out.  I think it should be in the mail tomorrow.

I wanted the Exoskull the most but I definitely love the Ancient too. I got those two. The Butcher kind of looks too fat on the bottom half of the skull imo. Nonetheless they are all freaking beautiful.

Hey i3oilermaker, this may sound like a really stupid question but the shipment status thingy, how does it work? There are like a bunch of scan histories. Do I just keep my eye on the April 17th one? It just says "Electronic Notification" and numbers for the location.

What are these keycaps made out of? Is it okay to clean these with Isopropyl alcohol? Not even sure if it's bad to use rubbing alcohol to clean aluminum.

Elrick, your vote on my second? Butcher or Ancient? :p

Get the ANCIENT one.  It's just a skull without the jaw bone piece.  It's a far better looking Skull than what's produced by the Click Clack Factory  8) .

I personally think "the ancient" is the best.  And I'm sure MANY of you disagree with me.

To bad you never saw the other skulls cc made. I have a feeling if you like these ones you would die for the clacks original metal keys. Say what you will, but these provide no comparison to a click clack. I think they're nice, like in a really good runner up sort of way. They really show his influence on the industry. The gnomes in the factory should be flattered.

As usual Boiler's Skulls got through Customs and got delivered to my door.

The bastards opened the small cardboard box thinking I was smuggling some contraband into this Convict Settlement but were sadly disappointed  ;D .

The Two Skulls look nice with their grime and dirt (which I'm keeping, not washing them at all) it adds style to their finish.

This is why I love buying from this man.

Love the way my ancient looks but the stem on mine is just really loose. The cap sort of just sits on the switch free to come off if the board is tipped/bumped etc. even painters tape three layers thick doesn't do the job. I'll figure something out.

Have the same issue with my Exoskull but the scotch tape remedy could help with multiple layers. Have yet to do it on mine just yet. Letting it just rest there bc it looks so good.

Maybe plumbers tape?  Or you can go totally hardcore and hot glue it in place.

I like them, but they are more artwork than keycap. A little too much for me personally to have on the keyboard. They do look amazing. One thing that also really bugs me is when the stems are loose. I had the same thing on some anodized aluminium keys and it bugged me so much that I took them off.

Hi m8,

Metal stem is a tricky one. Just a tad too little and it dont fit at all, just a tad too much and it can be loose. Its unforgiving.

Usually our metal stems are actually pretty tight. If theres a very visible fault on the stem you could take a pic of it and send to techkeys. I will send some replacement caps to techkeys at some point...so anyone with a major fault on a stem can get theirs replaced.

Oo, this could prove to be helpful. Thank you for your consideration!

Love the way my ancient looks but the stem on mine is just really loose. The cap sort of just sits on the switch free to come off if the board is tipped/bumped etc. even painters tape three layers thick doesn't do the job. I'll figure something out.

It's all good. I have a bunch of metal caps and not a single one fits perfect so I get it. I'm thinking a little duct tape piece might do the trick. The stem is in perfect condition so there is no damage. Sounds common enough, so a home remedy will need to do.

Tempting, but I think I'll wait for the dark ones to be released. Hopefully soon!

Just saw this, kinda cool. 80  for the set seems reasonable compared to previous prices.

I wonder if some candle wax might help. Use the wax when mushy, let it set inside stem (or use it when mushy for a stronger fix - removal using a lighter/ focussed heat source on metal to gently heat wax) , and then gently mount keycap onto switch.

Don't know if this will work for these keys as I don't have one but for me it creates a snug fit on other metal keys I have. At worst I use a tooth pick to remove the wax.

Interesting idea! Might be too messy for my liking but it definitely seems viable.

I have just used a thin piece of paper before and that worked. But yeah, loose fitting keycaps is also one of my pet peeves. If they are on keys you generally do not use, like Print Screen on whatever, then it is fine. But on something like an escape it just bothers me too much to keep it on there.

Agreed. I use the scotch tape method. Has worked perfectly so far but never tried it with the Artisan caps. Just left them loose :P
