We are working hard on the launch of our brand new Uniqey keyboard series, which will take off in spring 2015.
These keyboards will raise the bar in terms of material, quality and customization. For almost 25 years, GMK has been known for professional and durable products among its worldwide clients. With the UNIQEY keyboard line we are launching our first products tailored for private customers who appreciate these attributes.

To reduce waiting time we would like to introduce one of the new product features, which will be available for our UNIQEY keyboards, the QMX clip.

Mechanical keyboards offer very good product features in terms of reliability and precision. With the QMX-Clip we decided to deal with one of the last drawbacks of this technology: NOISE

The QMX-Clip features two-way silencing properties, both for pressing and releasing the key and reducing the noise by 10 db(A).

The result is a whole new typing experience with unrivaled noise reduction.

If you want to learn more about the QMX-Clip as well as other UNIQEY features, please also regularly check our new YouTube channel.

http://uniqey.createsend1.com/t/r-l-qjljtdk-iilkhjyhv-i/

The QMX-Clip will be available as an add-on option for our new UNIQEY keyboard series, but it will also go on sale separately.

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Just recieved this email: http://uniqey.cmail2.com/t/ViewEmail/r/D23A62F784BE7CA52540EF23F30FEDED/715A6B432B8EC54CF351F20C80B74D5E

Looks like the release of a silencing top-switch, reducing noise by 10db, and available aftermarket soon.

Woah, those QMX-Clips look really interesting.

The clips definitely look pretty interesting! Actually gives me a lot of hope that we'll be able to order caps separately, seems like they're going all out.

Nice! Clever idea, dampens both bottom out and release. No more need for trampoline and latex modding all my switches! :)

This is the first MX-related innovation that's actually innovative of all the recent "innovation" announcements by various companies (including Cherry themselves).

[EDIT] AAARGH... realised these won't work with SA profile caps... sigh. Guess I'll stick to my mods. [/EDIT]
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

The clips would definitely be a very interesting thing if it works as well as they claim. Could make a whole lot of people using these at work happy. :D

Their tool seems to be made specifically for these tops too.

EDIT: One issue though; Since it clips over the edges it does not seem to be compatible with plate mount. :(

Though I feel like the QMX-Clip would at least reduce the travel by 1 mm.  I can already foresee that it will bug me so probably not gonna work.  >____>

They will reduce the travel about the same as thinner / normal orings I reckon. The keycaps don't touch the case without the clips or orings.

???? Spicebar silencing mod is for Topre, not MX...

Or are you proposing a new mod, MX with thin landing pads inside? Don't think that will work due to the shape of the inside of the upper MX case.

The landing pad's original purpose was to be placed over Cherry MX switches to reduce bottom-out noise, no?

To GMK, consider selling blanks or CMD keys, I find the windows logo pretty repulsive

I wonder how the clip's gonna feel, if it goes wrong, it might make the keyboard feel like the keys are always getting stuck in

I don't know you guys, but for some reason, I'm really really enjoying the re-seating sounds the stems make

Very curious about the Uniqey updates tho

There's no reason why they couldn't make a new plate cutout design to fit their new switch tops. After all, they are offering them as part of a complete package. Now... if they do that, I wonder if those "type-s" tops could be removed without desoldering. That'd be awesome for spring transplants.

Anyhoo... Even though I'm not a Cherry switch fan (personal preferences and all that), I'm still excited. Especially that enthusiast keyboards of high quality seem to be entering the minds of businesses more and more. I'm all for that!  :thumb:

I'm pretty sure it's just a clip that goes over the top switch housing and it has a single rubber pad the the "shoulders" of the slider hit on the upstroke and the crosspieces of the keycap hit on the downstroke. It's not easy (or even possible?) to put a thin landing pad inside the housing like in spicebar's NovaTouch mod.

The QMX clips look just like a glorified version of the humble landing pads.

With the difference being that they're held in place and so dampen the upstroke as well as the down.

Right. I would be very happy to try them though. O-rings, trampolin modes, and landing pads were not what I expected, though. These new silencers may feel as odd as the other previous attempts to change the natural mechanical sound of the MX switches. It is interesting how we are intrigued by these intents to turn a nice mechanical switch into something more similar to a rubber dome.

I've always found that funny, never got the appeal of damping pads/o-rings/sili balls. I like my mechs to feel mechanical!

Will probably try the clips out anyway, if only to support GMK in their awesomeness.

For me it's been more of a quest for a less damaging (less bottom-out harshness and shock) and quieter switch without losing the halfway point actuation and other mechanical benefits. It does result in something slightly more "rubber-domish", but I feel like it's taking the best parts of a rubber dome feeling and adding them to the best parts of the mechanical switch. I don't mind what my board is compared to, as long as it meets my own criteria and goals.

That's correct, but I use landing pads (the soft, black ones) to silence Topre boards. The landing pad goes INSIDE the switch.

It would be awesome if they also provided non-standard keycaps, but most probably not

if they don't already have the molds, it's very unlikely they will

i got bad news for our wallets gents! :-/

in the latest answer on my question catalogue regarding the q100 i got the confirmation that it is possible to order "orange alphas with cyan legends, cyan modifiers with orange legends, and the esc and arrow buttons in even differen colors". all that in a black aluminum case with sidepanels of "interesting choices"... all that sounds really really awesome and im completely sold yet myself.... but it also sounds pricy as ****... my bet would be 250€+, if i had to guess that is
...oh an another info was that there the firmware will offer many ways of customization as well... i think he talked about makros but not sure :D

Ya know what would be nice? If they just release the info on their website already. It's been six months since they put the stupid teaser site up.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

yeah... but u have to consider the size of that company, they have only 45 employees...so maybe they rather concentrate on the important things. its clear that advertising is not their strong department xD but im sure that once the q100 gets released they wont have the problem of not selling any of these... more like to much orders to handle
