F2 Skulls?
« on: Mon, 01 October 2012, 19:51:21 »
Ive seen a lot of people talk about "F2" CC Skulls, almost as if to be slightly discriminatory, what are these? Are they knock offs or fake or something? Please excuse my ignorance, I'm new here.

They are different colors than the original ones from the EK sale. I believe they were black, grey, blue, red, and yellow that had f2s all the F2s have a hole punctured on the top side of the keycap. There's nothing wrong about them, they are just off-colored from the original ones; they are either lighter or darker, but not the same.

F2 = factory seconds.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
