Got this little thing in the mail today.  Still in the process of cleaning it up...haven't hooked it up to the computer yet.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (one side damp and one side dry) does wonders on the external chasis.  Rub it with the wet side a couple times and then buff with the dry side.  Then, wipe it with a damp cloth (water only) and dry with a dry cloth.  Removes even the most stubborn marks.

I just take the case apart, and wash the shells in the sink with dish soap and a spong.  To clean the gutter, I use a wooden toothpick.  When wet, run the toothpick all around the gutter.  All the crap comes out.  Used toothbrush works too.

What about a clean toothbrush?!

Interesting fact.  Poo particles exist in the bathroom all over, including the bristles of a used toothbrush =)

No today, but during the weekend - posting now:

Are they from WASDkeyboards? Interesting colour scheme, but I especially like the small legends far down. It reminds me of the Ambra Model M.

Today was the first time I tried having Amazon deliver to my workplace, so I got to work extra early. The delivery guy didn't show up until 2:30PM, but my impatience evaporated when I got my package. I opened it up, and was greeted by this beauty:

Now just waiting for some custom keys to come in the mail.  ;D

That's nice, I especially like the yellow keys.

Is the top of the case one large sheet of metal?  Do you find that it gets in the way, extending so far above and below the keys?

Thanks. The top is one piece of metal, and i have not found it to get in the way yet. it actually encourages me to type 'properly' -- that is, wrists raised, since the wrist wrest is so close to the keys.

Fair enough, you must have a bigger desk than me.  I have room to the sides, but not much room between keyboard and screen, or between me and keyboard.

I bought this Siig Minitouch off ebay for $29 shipped.  Much to my surprise when I opened it up I discovered that it was Monterey Blues!  Anyone have a guide to lubricating/cleaning monterey switches?

Do you guys have any reccomendations on cleaning the switches (ie. blowing them out with compressed air, lubing, etc.?)

I'd start with this:  http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001J4ZOAW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346256507&sr=8-1&keywords=datavac

I use that on all my keyboards regularly, and it saves the world.  It pays off after a while, and is significantly stronger than a bottle of canned air.

As far as lubing goes, most people don't lube the actual sliders for Clickly switches (at least for Cherry MX) because it tends to remove the clicky effect.  You could open up a switch and easily oil up the spring though.  I don't know anything about alps, but I'm guessing oiling the spring is universal.  As far as what to use, I'd refer to Limmy or MMB's guide.
