Project: High profile Aluminum CNC Milled case for the Planck

(1/3) > >>

King Icewind:
Spent a fair portion of the day today working on the prototype for a pretty hefty case for the Planck. It's CNC machined out of 1" thick aluminum and will be a nice high profile case. I'll post some more photos and videos soon.

Here's a short clip machining out the main pocket (first time running this CAM program, so it's a bit slow):

King Icewind:
Main pocket is finished. Still have to finish chamfering and engraving on the top.

King Icewind:
The engraving turned out really nice!

I also finished the engraving for the top: on to finishing the front, back, and bottom. My apologies on the light not being too great on these two pictures.

Timber Mech:
Looking cool.

Going for standard tray mount or something custom?

King Icewind:
Thanks! It will mount the same as it does with the OLKB cases (screw through the bottom/thread into PCB). It will just be a direct swap, shouldn't even have to remove any keycaps or switches.
