Keyboards with alt key more center
« on: Tue, 18 September 2018, 13:26:53 »
Hello everyone!

I currently type on an SIIG "USB Mini Multimedia Keyboard" (http://a.co/d/6qmS1YP ) and love the placement of the alt key. With it shifted over toward the center of the board, I can hit it with my left thumb. It also makes hitting the Super key easier too.

I've not been able to find any mechanical keyboards with a similar setup. I'd be interested if anyone has seen anything like this, i.e. the left alt key between the 'x' and 'c' keys.

I'd be interested in any keyboards with a small space bar too.

Thanks

-John

It's rare to see that as a default layout for a mechanical keyboard, but there are plenty of kits out there that allow you to pick and program the layout of your choice.

As an example, the Clueboard would allow you to have a key in the bottom row staggered between the 'x' and 'c' keys. You can then program that key to be Left Alt.

Wow that looks like a great kit! I love the Maximized version of the bottom row. I've seen that double space bar on a few Japanese keyboards before, and it's been on my wish list too!

I may have to get one of those! :)
