[IC] Brass Keycaps
« on: Wed, 22 February 2017, 06:28:50 »
Hi,

This is an interest check for solid Brass Keycaps.

These keycaps will feature the Cherry Profile (Row E), and will be solid brass.

The MOQ is 100, and the price is currently estimated at (18.00GBP) ($22.38) per keycap. This price may change.

This keycap will be available to purchase through the CAPS UNLOCKED store.

All feedback is appreciated.

Kind regards,

The image in the original post is a render of the final product. All of the brass keycaps will be polished.

Interested, will you make a brass space bar?

Will these be CNC'd or cast? Will there be prototypes prior to the sale?

isn't brass a more golden color? These look more like copper to me. Would probably buy anyway.

At the moment they will be cast, but I am looking into getting them CNC'd (to see if this would affect the price). There probably wont be any prototypes, however casting should work as I was involved in casting a solid 22-Carat Gold Keycap (DSA), and the end result of that was great.

Thanks for the support and interest. I believe the weight will be approximately 10-15 grams.

It is unlikely that a single Brass Spacebar will be created. If there is enough interest in it to fulfil 100 orders, then I will certainly consider starting a group buy for it. The price will be considerably higher for a Spacebar.

The end result will be polished to make it more shiny.

I'd be interested if it were a sand-blasted look. It was sort of asked earlier, but would they be coated or treated at all to prevent tarnish?

I will consider offering different finishes. The brass will be treated to prevent tarnish.
