[IC] EOL Gamepad
« on: Tue, 28 February 2017, 15:13:49 »
Had an idea for a problem that I face while I am gaming and was thinking some people might be interested in this as well.

It's essentially a half 60% keyboard for when you are gaming so you have less keyboard in the way of the mouse.

It would come as a DIY kit. Options for how you would want it are in the from.

I have a v1 prototype currently being made just to test it out. I have been getting quotes for different parts and it all seems reasonable.

Let me know if you have feedback for my idea! :D

You need to convince the Mistel guys to make a run of just the left half of their keyboard.

I thought about that but I REALLY do not like where the board is divided which is why I didn't get one. It's not ideal for games.

I actually think about making a "one hand keyboard":

Mock up
(wired and wireless)

though I'm not capable of making such a board,
I also don't know if typing on it is practical.  :)

I will try to make a hand-wired one soon.  :))

I think I would much prefer a full custom split 60%.

Gaming usually means using chat, console etc aswell, so you would still need a full board to do that anyway.
With a full split 60 you would have the option to only use one half, move the other half out of the way, but wouldn't require an additional board for typing.
