Hi Everyone, this is the first ever project from Tea House. We would call it the classic inspired, no-nonsense F13 88% TKL - Ayleen.

A little bit of back story: there is not really a theme when it comes to Ayleen.
The name was picked simply because designer and I feel this is just the right one! What we really want to achieve is a simple, classy, and semi-affordable TKL, since this is my favorite layout.
Oh did I mention, the sales format will be in stock? More on that Later!

I’d love to see pictures of the plate. That being said, I’m really happy with how this looks, and it’s great that it’s in stock. Sadly, since I’m a split right shift user, I can’t really join this buy  :-[

Some thoughts:

  • Unsure about 4 fastening screws solely in the corners of the board -- I would worry about the middle of the front and the back not making complete contact and potentially leading to poor sound.
  • Looks to be using a proprietary daughterboard, will these be widely available for inevitable DB failure (i.e. it breaks)?
  • The o-ring mounting points don't look to be consistent with what was derived from the Jane V2 CE -- is there a specific reason for that?
  • What does the plate look like? What is split plate?

Hey Buddy, thank you for the insightful questions!
  • That is very true, the lack of binding strength can cause a severe rattle right in the middle, we have since left enough space in the middle to avoid such disaster!
  • In an ideal world, we will be running a stream of products with the same daughterboard design, but we have also taken the precaution to make quite a lot of them for future repalcement
  • It is more of a design preference, the designer himself is a real ocd, and is looking for all thing symetirical, and after some testing and prototype, this particular desgin yield a very consistent typing feel when pair with our plate
  • We have just updated the IC with plate view and exploded view, that should help answer your last questions!

Hey buddy, the plate view is updated in the post! That should help answer that question! Essentially the alpha and function keys will get two individual plates!

Seems like a nice board for the price.  Will be keeping an eye on it.

I don't understand the side mounting points for O-ring, this is just going to sound/feel inconsistent in a TKL as the left side is closer to the alphas than the right

Have you consider keeping the front of the board clean? Don't really like that tiny cutout.

Thankfully, this board has much better layout choices for the user!

Did you upload the wrong pictures for the layout support under solder? You're surely joking right?
The reason why ppl buy solder PCBs (as far as I know) is to have more layout options, which the HS PCB simply doesn't support most of the time, like being able to freely choose between iso/ansi enter, split backspace, split right shift, split left shift, stepped or not, 6.25 or 7u space bar. I don't see a reason to offer a solder PCB that basically has a fixed layout.
At this point you might as well just offer 2 HS PCBs one for ISO and one for ANSI, since the solder PCBs basically only differ by allowing stepped caps lock, if the images I see are the ones you wanted to show and arent put out by mistake.

Other than the layout support on the solder pcbs I have nothing really to pick on, I like the looks of the board.

Edit
corrected some typos

Hey man, i see your point, there may be some misunderstanding here, the solder will support both ISO and ANSI. The real factor that dictates the layout is the plate you chose to use on your solder pcb. Thanks for your interest again!

I absolutely love this side profile. This is one handsome TKL.  I'd case screws in the middle as well as just the corners though, as I would worry about vibration if the surfaces don't perfectly meet.

Thanks for the kind word! We have thought about it, and have design around this concern. It is solid as a block as for the moment!
