Not exactly today, but I got this on Thursday or Friday and worked on it yesterday.  It was quite filthy and needed a lot of cleaning.  I also had to drill out the stabilizers since the stabilizer post on the solid one piece caps flares and would get jammed in the stabilizer insert (what genius at Unicomp came up with that one?).  I'm a bit disappointed that only the space bar has a stabilizing wire, but the quality isn't bad.  Not as good as the original Model Ms, but not bad.  The case actually feels more solid than the later generation Ms I've seen.

It's not perfect, but overall it turned out well.  And yes, I realize the Backspace key is the wrong color, but I dyed them based on the color the came off the board.  For some reason, Backspace was the cream color instead of beige.

The case was the hardest to dye and I had to add hot water from time to time.  It took probably a good 6 hours to get it that color.  I don't know it it helped, but I did add some white vinegar to it.

Something from QWERkeys, which seemed to have arrived very quickly.

Although this is the media section, I am unable to post a picture due to error 500.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I love eubiq wall plugs, but not those rails that are on the flour. Once you trip over one eubiq plug, the thing is as good as gone.

What is that rail behind the consoles? Also I love that R2-D2 360.

Looks like one of the modular power rails from http://www.eubiq.com/products/products.aspx?category_id=ALLeubiqs.

yup, that's a eubiq.
yeah, and the 360's got the same whistles/sounds and they have the you're my only hope line on the dvd/media tray

I love eubiq wall plugs, but not those rails that are on the flour. Once you trip over one eubiq plug, the thing is as good as gone.

yeah, although i don't have those rails on the floor at home;
i've had a few plugs that eventually broke, mostly the earlier versions as they don't have screws to secure the whole thing (which they fixed in the plugs now).
most of those that went kaput were the plugs we used in the kitchen.

I'm posting by uploading to imgur and using img brackets (bbcode).

Use IMGUR.... [ img ] http://www.imgur.com/imagename.jpg [ / img ] (without the spaces)

Why anyone uses the attach image function here is beyond me. Much faster loading to use an external link

I'll try this ...

Nope, that didn't work.  I thought I'd try posting without an attachment, then edit the message and add the attachment.

Didn't work :(
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs.

Nice get Jonathan! Keys look like they're in great shape.  :thumb:

And please people, stop attaching images via GH's uploader.  :'( Images are struggling to load completely lately, and it's just going to cause more 500 errors.

I take photos using the phone and use Tapatalk to access the forum and upload image. Just a couple of taps to do the job; no need to mess with BBCode.

The irony is that those images makes my Tapatalk crash 8/10 times or the image simply does not get loaded.

That's a GirlDC ghost right? They are so cute and awesome I've wanted one for a while.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done
