No problem, I got the email on 2/26. I did move and the mail was forwarded to my new address, I'm sure that is what took mine so long.

AFAWK, nothing has shipped since Feb. 26th.

Don't worry, the lack of communication indicates everything is sailing smoothly and your captain is alert and working hard to get you your merchandise. /sarcasm

I posted on Originative's facebook page asking about an update.

Here's the response I got: "All going to be shipped by Friday. I was on a mini trip to Chicago."

We'll see if that turns out.

...and I'm glad that I decided to sign up for some other GBs, also, knowing that they would likely have some of the same problems.  Our lengthy wait is [eventually] rewarded by some awesome keycaps.  :D  Think about the keycaps, not about the possible issues and these GBs will tend to be the most successful, IMHO.

I signed up for other GBs too, and here's the "issues" I would expect:

1) Announced Delays in manufacturing
2) Announced Delays in receiving
3) Announced Delays in shipping.
4) Increased Shipping prices gone up since order placed

Issues one should not expect to occur
1) Leader committing to a ship date and not telling you why it was missed
2) Leader not communicating at all once he has your money
3) Leader breaking simple etiquette of GBs by shipping leftovers before GB sets.

If Every GB had all of these issues, nobody, and I mean nobody would ever participate in them. But many GBs have one or more of the former category, and that's fine.  In fact, it's to be expected. But if you notice, half of those problems aren't even on the Leader's side. It's an issue with the manufacturer. The second category rests solely on the GB leader. The reality is, some people can run a GB, and can do it well, while others cannot. The takeaway I believe from this and the KMAC 1 GB is that Sherry is not amongst the former. People should not condone bad behavior because 'eventually' they got the goods they paid for.

I said it before, GBs are about trust. If you can trust that Sherry can do the job effectively, than that's on you. But the empirical evidence we have suggests otherwise. I have no problem waiting for the goods. I have no problem with the goods taking longer to get to my doorstep than initially planned, as long as I have been informed that there was a problem, and that it's at least being looked at. What I have an issue with is when an event one should not expect to crop up, does. That should offend you as a participant in a GB.

I encourage everyone to vote with their wallets, and do what you have to do. You'll see me in other GBs. You likely won't see me participating in any GB henceforth run by Sherry; at least not until this mess has been cleaned up and the wounds healed.

I was trying to just show a little optimism, OJ, but I agree with your every word and thank you for spelling out in clear terms what is and is not to be expected in a GB.  Well said.  I will certainly also be voting with my wallet in the future.

Perhaps a "Hall of Fame/Shame" forum area would be helpful for new members to quickly get a clear idea of who they can and cannot trust.  I've seen areas like that be very effective in other forumns.  Just a thought.

What do you think about the "Hall of Fame/Shame" area idea?

In my favorite knife collecting forum people post when they had bad market place experiences with sellers and also when they have experienced above and beyond excelent customer service.  It's a very nice tool for getting a heads up on a particular seller before dropping them any cash.

I agree 100% with OJ, well put. Also I like the Wall of Fame/Shame idea or any kind of review system for GB organizers. People buying from a GB put a lot of trust into the leaders and in return most of them put a lot of great work into the GB to make it happen for the community. Great GB organizers should be honored and bad ones pointed out so that others can decide if they want to trust them with their money.

I fairly agree with the hall of shame / fame idea, as long as it's done in a fair way. Pinpointing the actual issues that were had instead of just mindless bashing.

Side note shipping tracking here either.
