PULSE SA Alphas with Cherry modifiers?
« on: Wed, 14 March 2018, 04:17:34 »
Hi guys,

With the upcoming GB for Pulse SA R3 (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/pulse-sa-keycap-set?mode=guest_open) I would like to ask if it’s possible/comfortable to mix those kick ass cyan alphas with cherry mod keycaps?

Thanks:-)

SA caps are among the tallest you can get, and Cherry profile is among the lowest. You'll have to decide if that sounds like a workable combination.

I concur SA is only good for making pretty photos.

i think they look wonky on everything haha. to answer your question op I would definitely stay away from a combo like that. theres obviously going to be a aesthetic mismatch but also sound and feel are going to be all over the place.

Uniform R3 SA is not as bad, but sculptured takes a lot of getting used to.

Still wouldn't make an aesthetic or functionable combination with Cherry modifiers though.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
