Trackballs, Mice and an Android Tablet
« on: Fri, 23 September 2011, 19:37:56 »
Hi Guys,

I just purchased a cheap android tablet (Entourage Pocket Edge) and after installing some
old school arcade games (mame), I'm having problems controlling a trackball / mouse.
The software adjustments for trackball sensitivity doesn't slow down the cursor near
enough, so I'm starting to look into hardware adjustment.   I guess because the screen is
so small (800x480 WXGA 6"x3.5" - 7"diagonal) that a standard mouse has too high of a DPI/CPI to control
the cursor accurately or maybe it's slowly.  I've tried various trackballs and external mice
as well, including a CH dt225 setup to quarter cursor speed with the DIP switches, but
nothing slows down the control enough to make playing reasonable.

I've started looking at gaming mice that have adjustable DPI, although most of those
seem focused on high DPI rather than very low DPI.

Does anyone here have some experience with these smaller android devices and mice?
Am I going down the right track looking into an adjustable gaming mouse?
Any ideas?

Thanks

My Desktop setup:
Intel Q6600
IBM M type buckling spring keyboard with trackpoint
and CH DT225 trackball
