Is that plate incomplete? Or did the design change? The original plate / case looked top mounted:

The one you posted looks like it would be gasket/clamp mounted (which doesn't necessarily bother me), just curious.

As long as it's machined well and it clamps tight and doesn't woble and doesn't leave a gap I'm perfectly fine with it. I think the main reason people do top mount is it's hard to to a clamp mount that is tight with no gap. Is it using a gasket? Or just tight tolerances?

So is there only 2 pieces to the keyboard instead of 3 or how is it. I got a little confused when I read that.

5 - top, mid, plate, bottom, weight. Plate was changed from screwing into the top into being mounted between the top and mid with pressure.

To be clear. As long as the machining tolerance is tight, this design should be MORE stable, not less. The plate should be supported on the entirety of every edge by the case. As long as the cutout is the same depth as the plate, which should be extremely consistent since they just cut them from prefabbed sheets, there is no issue. The risks come from the gap being to small which would leave a gap between the top case and the mid case, or too big, in which case the plate could move up and down. As long as the size is right though, it’s better. Plus it makes it much much easier to swap plates.

I’m actually kinda excited it’s gasket mount, it’s way less common.

Exclusive says there is no wobble, and I have no reason to not believe him, so in my book this is a good thing.

Yep ,top and mid have a gap is 1.5mm depth so plate place on there .
Top and mid hold on plate is no doubt that will waggle

yea a lot of people prefer gasket mount over top mount too.  The gaskets allow a more soft? typing experiences since its not fixed top plate.  356 minis were gasket mounted

Technically I think this is considered a sandwich mount. Gasket would have something soft to hold the plate tight. Like a rubber ring around the edge of the plate. If you put the gasket under the plate you get a softer feel, if the gasket is above the plate it just holds it tight.

In theory Exclusive could make a gasket mount mod for this since it would just involve making a top or mid case with a deeper cut. The harder part would just be getting a decent gasket.

I mean like an add on. Not a change to existing orders.

It would 100% be possible to make a midcase that was a little deeper and had room for an oring like a 356:

And I just mean it's possible. I have no clue if there would be enough interest to justify it. But I could totally see ordering another midcase/plate just for gasket, even if I had to wait another few months to get the new parts. The point is you already have the CNC design done, adding an oring would just be cutting more out of your existing design. Now if it's worth it? Who knows.

Either way, I AM NOT suggesting that you delay this gb for gasket mount. My point is you could sell it as an add on kit to people who already got E6-V2.

i havent get 356mini so i dont know about gasket what actually is ? sry.

It's the red rubber thing on the bottom left corner of that pcb/plate.

The idea is rubber can be compressed/squeezed. So if your plate is 1.5mm, you make the cutout 3mm, then you use a like 1.7mm (how much thicker will determine how stiff the board is, i have no clue how thick is correct, 1.7 is just a random number) diameter oring between the plate and the bottom case. Then when you screw the case together the 3.2mm of plate/gasket get compressed to 3mm, so you get a nice tight fit, and a no gaps at all. But unlike a top or sandwhich mount, that means what your plate is resting on is not metal, but rubber or silicone or something, so you get a softer feel. I think it also sounds different.

That 356 plate is customized more, the gasket is only compressed on the parts that stick out, so the middle of the pcb is free floating, and if i remember right they actually did stuff to the pcb to make it flex MORE for linear switches.

The real advantage of a gasket is it could be tunable, you could have a thicker, softer rubber gasket for a softer feel, or a thiner but stiffer rubber gasket for a stiffer more traditional feel. You could even make cnc metal/plastic gaskets if you didn't want any play.

Here's a simple cross section example:

Oh, and to be clear, that isn't to scale or anything. Just meant to convey the concept.

Theres lots of ways you can mount the oring, to the plate, to the case, you could just use rubber strips on top and bottom. You could make the rubber stay in place better make making it inset into the midcase.

Gasket style cases are super uncommon though, so I do think there would be good interest in general for a nice one.

Would definitely pay extra for an another mid piece with rubber gasket support (and potentially another plate as well).

You could always offer an addon kit after the GB has concluded. If there is enough interest it might just be worth it :)

But I have a question what is kind of treatment it should be

Keep it real or sanding blasting  ,
pvd I think not better it will make weight  thicken that may can't put in bottom
what is u guys opinion there only choose one road

Finally I got brass weight

But I have a question what is kind of treatment it should be

Keep it real or sanding blasting  ,
pvd I think not better it will make weight  thicken that may can't put in bottom
what is u guys opinion there only choose one road

Shiny is best option, if possible...

I agree, I just saw someone post a picture of the brass weight on the m65 and it looks nice.

I think exclusive is saying that he cannot do PVD, aka shiny, because it will not fit in the case. So I believe he is saying the only two options are raw brass or sand blasted, neither of which are shiny.
