Realforce keycaps availability. Ascii or Japanese model?
« on: Wed, 15 February 2012, 03:04:51 »
Hi guys!

I'm living in Tokyo, so getting realforce keyboards is not a big deal.

I have more problem in finding Ascii versions of realforce keyboards.
I have a japanese filco majestouch and it's was a bad decision because I can't find keycaps like everyone else (they are all made for ascii versions).
So I'm wondering if that's the same for the realforce keyboards.
Should I buy my realforce in ascii or not?
I've found multiple keycaps for the Japanese version on rakuten... The ascii ones seem to be rare. But maybe I just don't know the good website to get realforce ascii keycaps!

Thanks for your help!

First of all, welcome to Geekhack :yo:

I actually think that you shouldn't have any problems finding Japanese sets if you live in Japan. I saw a lot of those sets on Amazon.co.jp time ago:

Also as you say Rakuten have some of them. Those ANSI sets were supposed to be limited but there seem to be some stock out there and the Japanese sets were released as anniversary edition but it seems there are in stock too.

Some of us got our ANSI sets from Iomania.co.kr in Korea so I don't know if there's a way to get them in Japan.

I own a Japanese Filco too and Vortex is going to realease some 108 sets so pay attention to them: http://www.facebook.com/Vortexgear
