HHKB layouts and bluetooth PCBs?
« on: Wed, 20 May 2020, 15:41:06 »
Noob builder here. Told to post this here for more exposure. I'm looking for the following parts for my second build:

  • Non-metal case with HHKB layout. Preferably FR4 but polycarbonate or acrylic will also do.
  • USB-C PCB with bluetooth that supports HHKB layouts. Preferably hot swapped but willing to solder.

GB, IC, pre-orders, or any leads in general are greatly appreciated.

Thank you and stay Corona free :p

Did you ever get any leads?

I'm also looking for a plastic HHKB-style case (corner-blockers).

Actually, I'm really looking for a plastic poker-style case with built-in corner blockers.

Has anyone see anything like that?

Have you considered HHKB itself? The v3 have bluetooth.

If you want MX style (though R1 finished)

You might also look into pandora, though not sure if they have non-metal options.

I'm not sure about OP, but I have considered HHKB. Obviously I love the layout, but I'm also heavily invested in MX and also need at least a little programmability. I'm also not a fan of the HHKB Fn location and arrow layout.
I'm watching https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=111423.0 for a PCB and that just leaves a good lightweight case with blockers.

Woah! I haven't seen the PH60 before... looks like it would be perfect for me. Bummed I missed it but I will keep an eye on it.

Thanks!
