I've been planning to open my store before I start this GB, but if I don't get the last of that work done this weekend I'll email Melissa and get this GB rolling!

Funny story; I was waiting for the wife who was shopping at WhiteHouse|BlackMarket yesterday and noticed their current color scheme was Navy blue, White, and Canary yellow... I mentioned to the wife that "it reminded me of Nantucket Selectric key caps i'm gonna get". She gave me a look of uncertainty, clearly questioning my sanity.

Alright everyone, I've received pricing from Melissa and I've run the numbers. I'd like to start this buy soon. Here's what the pricing currently looks like:

Given the large number of custom legends (particular in Amity Island, which is all customs) the pricing seems pretty in-line with other buys to me. Each of these prices include the following costs built-in:

* Cost of the keys from SP
* Cost of sorting
* A few cents to harlw for his beautiful mockups
* A couple dollars to cover shipping supplies and anything unforeseen that might come up

One thing to keep in mind is that I will also be stocking this set in my store after the group buy ends. The amount I stock will be proportional to the amount of group buy orders there are. This means that the group buy pricing will hit higher MOQ's more easily.

Europeans: Is the cost for that set too high? Do we need to break it up into multiple sets? That seems like a lot when no one group will use even 50% of the keys. (And before you ask, it'll have the proper ? ß key that the mockup doesn't currently show.)

Doesn't seem too unreasonable, amity island might be a stretch for me but everything else I was planning on is fairly reasonable. Absolutely can't wait for this.

We didn't want to label the planck keys?

I like the old trim but the keys are nicer for me with labels.

Wouldn't it make sense to at least put one of the homing FJ sets in the base? Like even if someone wants bumps as opposed to scoops, they're going to have to buy the homing pack either way. This just seems like forcing the majority of people would want homing keys to buy 12 keys they wont use is the opposite of "lean".

I'm not really sure what you're asking for here. You want labels on the mods too?

Assuming that's the case, I decided to go with blanks for the mods because everyone uses a different layout there. This way we don't have to have a dozen keys to support different layouts.

Right... I dont see a "homing kit" column in that price list which was why i asked if it was part of something else. Sorry if i'm missing something here, this will be my first group-buy.

Well considering he has the pricing above, and everyone else is ok with it, going to say yes.

I'm aware of the drama but this is the same basic pricing I got last November, nothing has changed from my POV. People who haven't gotten pricing since before August or September may be shocked still.

I didn't want to get into the "bumps vs scoops" debate and including one means taking a side. I think everyone's opinion is valid in that area.

It's less than $10 for the homing kit, here's an updated price sheet that includes that. Sorry I forgot it initially!

Europeans: Is the cost for that set too high? Do we need to break it up into multiple sets? That seems like a lot when no one group will use even 50% of the keys. (And before you ask, it'll have the proper ? ß key that the mockup doesn't currently show.)

Always a tricky one this, as much as I like this set, I'd personally not stump up the extra $45 or so for 4 keys for full UK support (I realise extras can be sold on and split-deals done, but that's a faff I'd rather avoid.)

Is there merit in splitting the EU pack in half, or even thirds?, or does the country support not split up easily like that?

I do keep ANSI boards to help avoid this issue, but that plan doesn't work this time around.

That's a good question that I haven't been able to satisfactorily answer. I'll spend a bit of time playing with that today to see if I can come up with anything. I'd love to hear from people in the rest of Europe to see if they have any good ideas.

Always a tricky one this.

Tricky is the right word. I'd love to be able to just buy a separate swedish kit, but I have a hard time thinking each country would end up in 25 buyers for the appropriate kit.
In the 1976 group buy I actually bought three scandinavian kits to have it produced at all, in plain panic. Worth it!  :thumb:

Here's some insight into why it's so tricky. There's only a couple keys that the French AZERTY layout shares with the rest, so I'm not showing that part of the board right now. Here's what I've been staring at for 45 minutes:

The keys on the right hand side of DE and Pan Nordic are the ones that are shared with DE. This leaves only one obvious possibility I can see; combine DE, ES, and Pan Nordic into one kit, and then have separate kits for UK and FR that will live or die on their own. That would end up looking like this:

I think that would bring the cost of the Pan European kit down to around $30 at 25 MOQ, the UK kit to around $10, and the FR kit around $25. These aren't official prices, I want to figure out if this is the right way to go before bugging Melissa for more quotes.

I see this keyset is in queue, expected for completion in May? Did I miss the order page?

OMG please don't be true that I missed it. This would have been my first GB.   :'(

No group buy yet, but I think we should be expecting something soon.  :thumb:

I like this new launch site. Definitely gives a good perspective on production times and how long a newly proposed set would take to get made.

Im not sure about how much money im going to spend in a short period of time. Black selectric, nantucket selectric, zealios, pbt cherry dye sub...

Not to mention my custom nautical build.

But itll be worth it

Glad to see a date go to this, still unsure if I'll jump in on this as my first SA set. I'll have to see how much money I have at the time ^-^

How can something go into production before the GB starts. That is a lot to bankroll.

I haven't ordered or paid for anything yet. I don't know why they have listed that but I'm not gonna argue with them. :)
