Matias, Microsoft and a bunch of other companies would disagree.
Man I hate the Ergodox circlejerk around here. If you're not interested then why post? I don't go into Ergodox saying how much I hate matrix layouts.
Hey, sorry I didn't mean to step on anybody's toes. I probably could have worded that better. It's no secret that I definitely prefer the ErgoDox layout to a standard QWERTY (it's not a matrix, btw, it's actually called "columnar").
I guess what I was trying to say is that doing nothing but splitting a standard layout is pretty much the bare minimum that can be done to increase ergonomics. While I applaud Duck (not to mention Matias) for moving in the direction, but just as I commented on the Matias thread, I think that more could be done. Also, I used Microsoft's Natural line of keyboards for 10 years, so I'm very familiar with what Microsoft considers ergonomic.
Regardless, that is a definitely sexy board. It's all love around here!!
PS: I'm genuinely curious, have you tried an ErgoDox? I definitely don't think that it's the perfect keyboard (far from it), but I, and many others, feel that it's a great improvement over standard layouts. Much in the same way that most of us here feel that mechanical keyboards are an improvement over rubber domes.
