Quick question. I noticed the arrow keys in the renders look different. In the more drawn out style showing the whole set they look like arrow tips with stems, and in the real life type render they look like chunky arrow heads with no stems on them. Which set of arrow keys will be used when they keys are produced?
They will look like the renders. That’s how all Maxkey arrows look.

The previous colors were:

If you’re looking for input, from what I can tell I’d personally prefer keeping 491C for the alphas. I like the accent color change though and agree the mods should look nice.
At the end of the day it’s your set so obviously take or leave my input and work with your initial vision! Either way I’m excited for this set to happen.

That definitely makes sense! I’m sure once you have the samples it’ll be an easy decision. Do you have any updates numbers? We’re getting close to the end here and I’m curious if you know whether this set will push through yet or not!

So yeah, unfortunately I didn't manage to get the money before this GB ended, which is really a shame because I honestly think this is one of the best looking, subtle and tastefully done keysets I've seen in a long time.

That sounds great to me! I quite like the accent colour myself and when I adjust the photos a little bit to what I imagine is the correct colour balance and lighting then it all looks very nice! I think this is going to turn out really well and I can’t wait until January!
Edit: I wonder if you could take a photo with the keycaps on their respective Pantone colour sheet just so we can see how they match up?

Nothing is set in stone yet and let’s keep in mind we have no idea what kind of lighting conditions these were shot under. If ye_cole takes a photo with the keycaps on their respective Pantone chip we’ll have a much better idea how things match up and if any adjustments are needed.

Totally agree that the accent color(orange), mods and legends are spot on. But the alpha colors do seem a little too bright.. almost pinkish? Good to know that there are second samples. Loving this set so far!

My thoughts: LOVING the colors. I think they look great and am going to keep them on my HHKB until royalty ships.
Not 100% sure about the orange, but I'm going to see how it feels like in a couple of days.
I'm going to wait until the 2nd round of samples before making any final decisions, but I'm leaning towards keeping these colors ATM.

Thanks for the update. Too bad about not getting more samples but it did seem like the first ones are good. If you have time would it be possible to just see the samples next to the original Pantone colours you picked? I’m just curious how they compare. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't think I can do that! I don't have access to the book anymore. I'll try and see if any local print shops have swatches, but if that doesn't pan out I don't think I'm going to be able to do that.

I agree it seems the legends on the mods seem less creamy but maybe that’s just the surrounding colour creating that effect? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Overall though I think the colours turned out super well!

Apparently they've had them for a week, but they're not in stock (whatever that distinction is supposed to mean to customers). Does anyone know if Kono is outsourcing their fulfillment? Between this and the update for GMK Monochrome, it sounds like their warehouse is actually outsourced to someone else. When I received my GMK Monochrome set, the GMK banderole was shipped to me inside a plastic bag, with no other packaging. Hopefully they do better with SA Royalty, but it doesn't sound like Kono has enough control of the shipping process.
