Well, I'm just looking for another person to do laser cutting for an acrylic proto just to make sure all the dimensions are correct. You can't really laser CF since it melts and releases chemicals.

Yeah, first place I tried. Think I got something already for the proto so stay tuned. Alternatively, if I can just get a second or third opinion on the case files this time to make 100% certain they're good to go, we can proceed

There hasn't been an update from you in a few days shy of a month.  When you built out the plates, the spacing appeared to be off.  How goes the correction of that?  Why are you not returning to the same vendor with a new drawing/DXF?

I agree. It would be nice to know exactly what is going on.

What is the current status on the acrylic plate?
What's taking so long?
Depending on the answer to that last question, whats the plan to get the blocking issues resolved?
Do you have a time frame in mind for when this will be finished?

Once the prototype is done:
Will the same place be cutting the CF plates?
If not, is there someone lined up? The original palce?
Does the shop you will use know about this order, or will you be starting the communication process from scratch once the prototype is done?

Since I've had the case checked and checked again by multiple reputable members who have experience with cad design, I feel confident going ahead with the files now. I'll be submitting them as soon as the last person gets back to me.

The acrylic piece fitment issues have also been addressed and fixed.

We did made sandwiches style case for a friend last year, tested and worrking:


CF plate on Weaven and Lustro was revised since then and now even better with all minor mistake fixed and cosmetic improvements.

We can correct your mistake (if there's any) and product prototype for inspection in less than a week, our VMCs for aluminium parts are working under full load but laser cutter (for acrylic mid piece) and non-metal CNC milling machine (for plastic & cf) still have some free slot in schedule.

Happily able to help, we know it sucks to wait for prototype again and mistake and wait again, been there in past.

Im placed order on M3 hexagon binding posts, it take any M3x5mm screw (10mm spacer + 3mm for both top and bottom plate). The outer dimension of the post supposed to be 4.5mm, but I will only trust my own measurements once it arrived, will take 5-10 days.

Sorry for taking long, my own group-buy require more work than I expect... buried in excel sheets all day.

Just did the acrylic test today. Unfortunately the acrylic mid-piece was failed when I cut it and I'm out of thick acrylic stock. Will try again tomorrow, when it done I will move to CF final product. I will try two slimmer acrylic piece 5mm instead one 10mm thick - thick acrylic led to less precise laser cut at the back.

But the top and bottom pieces border shrinking was okay, should not have any problem by now.

Spacing for largest 60pcb (same size of 60% plate) - okay
USB port having one more hex post, should be enough to keep the acrylic mid-piece in place - total 9 hex post.
There's lots of room under the pcb, should I shorten it so the case look slimmer?





Hopefully everything will be set in motion this week

Great to see the progress. Is the happy plate based on the same file, or will it be prototyped as aswell?

I'm always in favour of a thinner case where possible, but that's just my opinion

It would look better if I stacking 2 black acrylic spacer near the carbon and just one clear/frost in the middle.
