Hello everyone! The Chieftain 42 is a keyboard case for the Corne keyboard, essentially the most popular custom split keyboard out there. This case was designed to be a hefty, luxurious, and elegant case that I hope peaks your interest! It also includes an optional tenting kit, and if you choose to forgo the kit, the mounting is discretely hidden away.

About me
Hi! I'm Ryan from Southern California and u/TimberForge on reddit. I actually started my journey in mechanical keyboards with the Corne first, which I learned about through r/mk on reddit. (First if you discount Razer keyboards haha) I'm an incoming engineering student at UCLA who likes to make random stuff in his free time and share it with others. This is my first group buy, but I'm confident I can make this work. I'm of course willing to spend lots of time on making sure that the end product is a great one.

Design Philosophy
There have been many Corne cases that go for a minimal profile, or cases that try striking a balance between a premium feel and a travel-friendly case. Instead of trying to be a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none, this case instead goes all out into the hefty and premium route. I'm thinking that if we're gonna to be spending a bunch of money for different keyboards, we might as well make them have very distinct features :P

Chieftain 42?
The Chieftain is a popular British tank, and the sloped sides and relatively high weight are shared characteristics of the tank and this keyboard case design. Plus it sounds cool ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The 42 of course is the number of keys on a corne. wow so creative xD

Nobody replied yet?

I really like this. I'm just getting used to typing on an Atreus though, and despite Corne being a really beautiful board to me, I'll probably not go smaller than Atreus for the moment.

I might consider trying this out if I have the budget later in the year. I see Iris is also getting an alu case. I prefer the sharper angles of the Chieftain though.

If I had a corne I'd probably jump on this. There aren't a lot of nice looking aluminium cases for split boards!

Edit: Bugger it, I'll buy a corne to join this
