if the quantity is limited would it come out to a first come first serve basis?

Yes, first come first serve

Will you be referencing the IC for who filled the form first?

no, IC is only setup to gather information.

Hopefully soon, with a specific amount such as this :D

Btw boost, how exactly do you choose who gets and who doesn't. I know the price has not been confirmed, but I don't expect everyone to be willing to pay the cost.

Order will start once the design is done and made.

I will give a date and time to when the orders will open and you submit google docs forum as it time stamps pretty good.

Limited amount of PCB's being made.

Again, why?  There is no reason to limit PCBs other to impose artificial scarcity.

You know, I'm kinda glad someone agrees with me on this.  I see this IC go up and think "Oh, they'll base number of units to build off of this, good job specialty keyboard maker" and then it's "Only 50 will be made" and I'm now "Why is this a thread, then?"

You have no idea where the machine time is coming from.  Maybe it's a busy shop that allows 'whomever' machine time for cheap for short runs?  On the other hand the traditional reason for small runs of Korean boards is the lack of space for staging packaging and shipping.

I think 50 is a lot. I could be wrong, but I think LZs GBs are usually smaller than that.

I totally went dyslexic and read "time machine" and got confused.

^ Yup  and isn't there going to be a second run or something?

Then, why not take this IC as what it should be meant for and go "Ok, there's enough interest to build 84.3 of these, we'll do it in two runs of 42.15, who can wait an extra month?"  instead of trying to artificially inflate rareness by telling almost 85 people that only 50 will be made, even though you have plans for a second run.

it might be two runs for a total of 50 or two runs of 50 IDK. Either way atleast 50 people will be happy

Vintage sets are a big hit among hobbyists, specifically genuine Cherry sets. Many people also find no use for their menu key and Windows key and prefer 84 and or 86 layout more

Many people need to familiarize themselves with the very useful hotkeys that involve the Windows key. :P
On some Linux distributions the "Super" key is used frequently as well.
For keyboard enthusiasts, a lot of people rely on mousing around to get things done.
Layout: Colemak
Fastest typing speed: 131 WPM on typeracer, 136 WPM on 10fastfingers.
Daily driver: Filco Tenkeyless MX Brown with ergonomically weighted, lubed springs.
Ergo keyboards: Truly Ergonomic, Kinesis Advantage, Ergodox

Yeah, but with a fully programmable board, why can't a 84/86 key layout have a win/super key for those that want it?

To be fair, it feels like a million billion people are clamoring here for one, but that total may only be 49-53.

I think it would probably be best to see the design and pricing before knowing how many people are actually going to purchase. This is an interest check after all. I will definitely be getting one as I have wanted a Korean board for a while now and 84-86 key layout is what I am shooting for =D

I was simply commenting on how people who find the Windows key is useless should learn its many useful features. "Winkeyless" is almost more of a fad than a reasonable configuration except for those that are trying to use old keycap sets with them, which is a fine motivation. I could also understand it for people who are hardcore gamers for whom pressing the Windows key by mistake is a big deal.

For example, how do you launch your programs in Windows? Most people probably use their mouse and either single click on the programs pinned to their start bar, double click a shortcut on their desktop, or click on the start menu button and navigate to the program they want. If you use the Windows key, Win+# will launch the #th thing on your start bar and pressing Win then just typing will search for programs, files and menus. For example, if you press Win then type "fire" you can probably press Enter and you'll launch Firefox without having to use your mouse. While Ctrl+Esc can simulate a Win click, you can't combine it with any other keys, e.g. Ctrl+Esc+# won't simulate Win+#.

I use Alt-Tab and Launchy.... Win-Keyless is 'popular' because of vintage Cherry DS popularity.

Now there is GMK, we can all join the vintage future.  Gimme 87 keys, damnit.    ;)

It's all preference IMO. I use the winkey heavily at work, but not as much at home. But as a collector, it's neat to own multiple layouts, especially when my nice caps will fit :)

I've only ever used the menu key by accident.  I use meta all the time and it is become more useful with these fancy new window managers.  So 86 for me.  It's what I have on this Phantom and I am pretty happy with it.

I'm looking forward to an 87 GMK Dolch. However since I'm looking for Colemak legends rather than Qwerty I'm not sure what my odds of actually buying a set are.

I'll remain on the list, but in the hope that the key layout get's reconsidered.

GB's may offer them often (appears to be about half, based on a quick look), but it's a hassle that really doesn't do anything except make it harder and more expensive to get keys. I don't understand the attraction and keys are often overpriced as it is.

Oh, and for the hardcore gamers who worry about hitting Win by mistake, there is a ton of ways to stop this from happening, from registry tweaks to Autohotkey, to just plain disabling the switch Personally, the key is too handy to not have it.

This is pretty much it. If I'm going to fork out a lot of money on a board it better be something I can't get for $60.

Umm I removed my winkey on my filco, doesn't do any good when playing games where you can misclick by using ctrl a lot (ex. starcraft, cs go etc) and I don't use it at all in any other cases.

Honestly, I'm pretty ambivalent about the win key. I prefer it, but I can live without.

Other than the key size though, this keyboard is pretty much exactly what I have been looking for.
