Ive always liked mapped media buttons in the FN layer but know that I cant assume its going to be on all the keyboards I buy. After I got my display case Ive been thinking about making a small custom media controller with some useful keys IF I get a 60% or HHKB in the future

Was thinking about making it on a case like this one but probably vinyl wrap it because of the hand wiring part:
< A is Arrow left
Cut and Play should be 2.0 unit large
Case I dont think will be a problem, but when it comes to soldering Im out of equipment and PCB Im just not sure what you can do / map. Looked out "Teensy" and that, based on the size, looks promising.
What would be the best way to move forward and what kind of budget do I need to make it a reality?
