Title: [IC] DSA or DCS Big Ass Enter
Post by: treypop on Fri, 15 October 2021, 14:15:49: THIS PROJECT IS ON INDEFINITE HOLD / CANCELED

This is an IC for a DSA or DCS big ass enter set I would like to run it in white, black and maybe other colors if you suggest anything else. I am looking at using NN for the black color and WA for the white

This is truly just to gage interest and apart from asking Signature Plastics if they still have molds for the big ass enter key I have not finalized anything.

The mounting layout for the key supports ANSI and ISO stabilizers.

UPDATE
I have updated the form and added a question to determine what profile its run in. I have also turned on response editing so if you have already filled out the form please add what profile you want the set to be run in.

I emailed them about a month ago asking about it and they said that they do still have the molds.

Big ass enter is definitely a niche in the hobby but I'm hoping with the boom the hobby has gotten we can finally get enough people to do a group buy that can go for a reasonable price.

I was working on one at one point but my PCB designing is cheesing it at best. I couldn't get the layout of the board right with the limited amount of space.

I don't really know what how many I need to approach a vendor about it but what I have been told from emailing Signature Plastics is a minimum order value for anything going into production is $100 (not including stock items).

Maybe try changing the profile to DCS instead of DSA. I know I'd be down for some DCS BAEs & suspect the profile is a big factor in the small amount of responses.

I agree. DCS is very similar to Cherry profile and that's what most people use. It wouldn't feel out of place because the sculpt would be better than DSA on a board with Cherry caps.

Wow. I haven't seen that stabiliser arrangement before.

In practice it supports only ANSI stabilisers. These are offset from ISO both on the horizontal and the vertical, to accommodate the "shared" stem in the corner.

Unless there is a new one GMK big ass enter isn't happening. What's the name of the SP set?
