Never really got into the HHKB layout, love that smoked TKL though.

Looks good. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out once you've found a manufacturer; I think that's gonna be the crucial part.

I wish the not happy/not sad smiley were somewhere on the board though. Gives off strong rave vibes.

A fabricator has been sourced for all components, my most crucial concern is ensuring a consistent dye job for the enclosure. One thing I forgot to mention is that I plan on making my STEP file for the gaskets open source following the groupbuy, while 60A is typical for gaskets I want to encourage people to print them in different TPU hardness types or even Delrin/Pom plastic.

The logo will be present though it's not featured in renders; as of now it's placed as a plate engraving on the right-side HHKB blocker and above the arrow cluster on the TKL. I've also considered doing a white enamel fill on both so that they're visible through the top enclosure but we'll explore that more when prototypes arrive.

Will there be a hotswap pcb option?

Sorry, not really interested in doing hotswap.

I love the look of dyed PC, I'm not a fan of the plain PC typically, but this might bring it to another level.
Do you have any angles featuring the silicone silencing mat? Is it an internal dampener or is it replacing bottom side bumpers?

Unfortunately it's kinda' difficult to show in renders but the first one will likely ship before the enclosure prototype, expect some pictures shortly. It's essentially a large mat of lasercut silicone that seats into the bottom of the case with a center cutout around the weight. I chose silicone as it's easy to cut, comes in a variety of different weights and is transparent so it remains fairly camouflaged inside of a transparent case. Of the material samples I've handled so far, I would compare it to what you'd find in a Silpat baking mat in terms of texture and pliability.

Love it, the transparency of PC is a blessing and a curse, although I'm sure this'll pair nicely

Is it really necessary to go through your website(that serves no purpose other than branding) to fill out an IC form done using google docs. Just link your site, if people want to go to it then they will. If they don't, they won't.

Potential is v strong with this design. Agree with photekq. I think the logo should make it somewhere on the board.

My preference is always on the side of no obvious branding, however the proposal for plate engraving considering a semi-transparent case sounds like a nice middle ground for those who prefer such a thing.

I'm a big fan of 'subtle enough' branding I guess I would call it and I love to play with typography and graphic design - have quite a few ideas I can't wait to show you guys in the near future.

Both colors for both boards with an option to add a corresponding aluminum top (grey and silver) similar to what was offered in the Lynn Whale GB, another one of my favorite boards.

This looks clean! Great job. Been wanting a polycarb and I enjoy the hhkb layout, so if this is made I'm in for sure.

if the duo smiley gets printed where the hhkb branding is placed,
I'm buying two :-)

Hey there everyone! Just touching base, another rainy week in quarantine has proved more productive than initially planned and we're moving through our timeline faster than anticipated! With various prototype parts either in the post or being fabricated I hope to provide you with a more comprehensive update by the end of this week.

This will likely include packaging samples, cable prototype samples from coaxius, gasket and silicone samples, some slight changes regarding changes in the final design, detailed information regarding groupbuy run times and deadlines as well as a website overhaul. Finally upon the arrival of our enclosures we'll wrap things up with an extensive prototype photoshoot before sending all four kits to two preselected and highly regarded build streamers for review as previously mentioned.

For any questions feel free to drop me a line and I'll get back to you as soon as I can, otherwise be safe and have a great day!

Branding on the plate sounds reasonable. If it's visible on the board then I'll pass.

This just might be the first 60 I try to get into. Super nice looking board. Excited to hear any new updates.

Hey everybody, just a few updates as we progress through to the end of the month. With prototypes in production, cable swatches being selected and website updates underway I’m pleased to announce everything is coming together rather quickly.

That said there have been a few slight changes for the better:

- Gasket construction has been changed from a 3D printed TPU to injection molded silicone. With future groupbuys planned and cross compatibility between boards I wanted to guarantee a more consistent gasket with a more streamlined production process. This gasket will be the same standardized 60A hardness as the original and will come in a transparent silicone to better obscure its view inside of our polycarbonate case. Buyers will still have access to the gaskets STL file via a QR coded customer card that will be shipped with the kit in the event that they want to experiment with different material types or hardnesses.

- The internal weight design has changed significantly and now features the logo rather than the original typeface, several engravings have been added to both the plate and inverse of the weight. In addition to design, weight finish will be changing from a high polish to a brushed finish after reviewing some sample materials.

- Cable wrap options for the included cable on the 88-key TKL will include either a black MDPC-X or a white MDPC-X per customers preference.

Expect more updates over the coming weeks and feel free to join my Discord for more details: https://discord.gg/c6X5x2

And finally, some exploded views to give you a better idea of how this thing goes together:

Is it a custom pcb? Or can a standard one work?

Thanks! Unfortunately keeping costs low is difficult when factoring in multiple proprietary parts, a custom colored small batch dye process, injection molded gaskets, etc.

Thanks for this, fixing ASAP.
This just might be the first 60 I try to get into. Super nice looking board. Excited to hear any new updates.
Thanks for your support and feel free to hit me up if you have any questions!

;( open buy, sorry. The latest reiteration of the H88 does in fact support alps, though the first round of this board won't. Following a second round I'd like to introduce alps support via a secondary groupbuy with different gasket/plate material options if there's enough interest.

Is it a custom pcb? Or can a standard one work?
The TKL will utilize the latest version of the H88 whereas I'm still trying to determine which 60% PCB will be shipped with the kit though it does feature support for the most common options.

That’s the idea eventually! Once I can prove consistency in the dye process with this run I’d like to expand into other colors as well.

Out of curiosity, what colors would you like to see offered?

I don't have specifics in mind but I would love to see brighter colors like yellow, blue, or green. White would probably also be a safe bet.
