Considering how strinct the lockdown here in Germany is, I would expect longer delays on every GMK run right now, especially on larger GB like Olivia ++ or Modo Light, since it will take them a way longer time to quality control the sets.

Yeah, I think NK ordered some 6k plus sets. There will be plenty of extras, but will may not see it till late June-July at the earliest.

That's $673,530 for just the base kits. I'd imagine they are pulling a healthy profit.

Sure, they're obviously not making a loss here, but your hundreds of thousands seemed a little high to me. I checked and there was ~$818k sold across all kits.

I'll caveat this with I have absolutely no idea of the margins of keycap sets, but when you consider that cost of goods from GMK make up a decent chunk, as they want some profit in making the keycaps, and then there are also five vendors running it across the globe that are sharing in those total sales... That number quickly comes down.

I am 100% certain that NK have done OK out of this particular run, but unless the margin on keycaps is way higher than I thought they're not in the hundreds of thousands range.

Edit: Discussing vendor profits seems a little off colour so thats it on that subject from me.

Still haven't worked out just what I'm going to put this on... I'm hoping to pick up a Rose Gold board for my partner and I think this would pair well.

Anyone order a light base kit and want to trade it for a dark base kit when the time comes? I ordered the dark planning to put it on a black aluminum Jules, and now it's looking like my next 65% will be a polycarbonate THiNK6.5 v2 that I'd much rather put a light kit on.

KBD19X (black case, brass plate) & the light kit. However I ordered the "pinkish" deskmat, not the grey one and now I'm having second thoughts about it, 'cause I think the grey one might fit better (on a white desk)

this! i wish more people bought extra caps to resell. i only recently got into the hobby and wouldn't mind giving someone some extra money for an older kit that i was not around for. i really want an olivia or cafe kit for my future 7V build.  i was not around for either of those GBs

Got into this hobby not too long ago as well. I do believe you'll still be able to get extras pf olivia and cafe from vendors. However they usually go out pretty quick so you'll have to keep an eye out for them.

That was a pretty damn good point. Only 3% of kits in the biggest keycap GB ever included people who were prepared to stump up money for ISO support.

Yet ISO seems like the single most commonly requested feature of any GB.

Pretty sure that the GB page where you joined should have a delay message. Honestly, if you join a GB you should always just expect perpetual delays. It's a thing, especially in a global pandemic situation.

I don't know why you are focused on this thread when they have a status page on their website and a newsletter. They also post on Reddit.

I mean...It is in the rules. If they created the thread, they should provide updates in it as well. I don't blame Mike, he's running a whole business and is excellent at providing updates on his own storefront. But maybe the designer's of each set should pop in from time to time and let participants know how things are going, even if it's just an echo from the same info on NK's site. Otherwise, why even make a thread? Unless you're a fan of interactive advertisements or something.
