hmm, if i recall correctly, ivan did mention about the capslock issue when he mentions that he is using different supplier for this round.
also that capslock's off colour wasn't what ivan wanted either, it was the manufacturer's fault or something, which i can't remember the details already.
i believe that issue bothers ivan more than anyone else  :p

btw, love the hebrew set, but also waiting patiently for the improved mock-ups (for the hebrew numpad section, will the Home arrow PgUp sublegends be spelled as it is or will it be different? i absolutely love the dual-tone on the numpad!) and the KO/JP mock-ups  ;D

Pretty sure they are still coming from KBC as always.

Korean.

I'll make sure either the caps lock is the right color, or if they really can't manage it we'll go with all same color key. The issue was the way they have the molds made up with multiple keys in groups. The full touch caps lock is together with some other keys like numpad zero and etc for whatever reason...

The red/green on the Japanese looks too Christma-y IMO

maybe black/red or black/green or something.

I have to say I am not really digging the designs yet.

Are those just concepts or will the final sets really look exactly like this?

I am talking about stuff like the F-Keys on the Japanese set for example. It looks kinda odd to me...

i'm with lechnerDE on this.

also the numpad area looks weird to me, with just the number without the sublegend and arrow.

i would prefer it if it's black or dark blue legend with blue/light blue sublegend.

I guess colors are going to be subjective... and it depends MASSIVELY what it looks like on what you are viewing it on.
KO set is done in orange and light brown. JA set is a revised 'Miami' colorway with the cyan bumped more towards sea foam green since it came out a pale blue last time. Trying some different things with fonts and legends instead of same old. Why does every set have to look the same?

Ivan,

I don't know how other people feel about this, but I really liked how you used the Cherries on the win keys for the R2 Cyrillic.

The Cherries would look good on other sets too  :D

Of course it's all a matter of preference.

And I know how tired you are of doing the classic stuff in different colors again and again, but I think you shouldn't do too much "extravagant" stuff at once in a single set. For me the japanese letters themselves are enough novelty. They should look nice with standard Cherry Mods - just like the Miami Set.

For me there are just too many details I don't really like (F-Keys, missing symbols on numpad, alternate Win Key).

Maybe it would be better to try the F-Keys on a Classic Cherry set to see how it looks like in person? From my experience people don't want too much at change at once and I am afraid this GB might have a hard time reaching 20 orders per design.

Having said that I wish you all the best for this GB. I just wanted to express my thoughts and give you an honest feedback to your new designs :thumb:

Really like that Japanese keyset, but I think that two different bright colors for each alphabet is a little too much, but it might look nice. The only thing that's really off-putting to me is the weird F-row legends

That Japanese set looks awesome! Now I just need to figure out how to fund buying Apple, Cryillic, and Japanese.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

Japanese

Looks pretty good, but I'd rather it be in a more sensible colorway. Black/red for example.

Hmm... hard to tell how the colors look I agree.... the miami looks like strait red and light blue on my monitor. Any chance of a color change on the Korean set? Perhaps orange/dark blue?

The legends look super clean btw

I'm interested in that Japanese set, but at the moment it looks way too flashy with that bright green and the contrasting red. Both the English alphabet and the hiragana should have colours that blend. Something like black alphabet and dark red characters would look nice.

Might be too late, but I would like to see a reverse Cyrillic, but with different characters like Chinese for example. So a black keycap, white english lettering, and the different characters red. Would look really cool IMO. Just a suggestion

For the Japanese set, the function row seems a bit odd at first, but does grow on you (well, for me it did). I understand that it'd be a change from the usual. I think for those who see the colorway as red and green, I think Ivan did it so that when imsto dyesubs the caps, the sea foam green will turn out more cyan and the red more towards magenta. The Miami Odessa mix had the magenta more towards pink and the cyan ended up light blue. Just a theory.

As for the Hangul set, the burnt orange/brown came out nice for the Cyrillic R2 so it should work well for this set. I had envisioned a revised Hangul set to have a dark brown for EN, and a jade green for the Hangul. Something along the lines of branches with leaves for white cherry blossoms, with white cherry blossoms being the base off white of the key cap. So it would have a nature type feel but with a more modern font ... or I'm just delirious with the whole cherry blossom thing :)) Anyways, the difficulty would be imsto to generate a jade green on a keycap. I'm sure people still enjoyed the look of the greens from the Irish set from r2, so I was hoping a green would pop up for Hangul.

This is simply not possible. The legend has to be darker than the keycap for dyesubbing...

I definitely love the Century Gothic. I just wish there was a symbol that can be used instead of a window on the winkeys. Where did the Century Gothic font come from originally? Is it from an era of time?

but i like it better if it's a 5 coloured windows 95/98 logo (black, red, green, blue and yellow)

it's an eternal war between windows logo when it comes to winkey.

The multicolored one from the 90's is hands down my favorite windows logo.

The ones Ivan did on the R2 black on beige dye-subs looked amazing.

I'm not sure if everyone hates it, or just hates particular versions of it.

As a Linux user and developer I've felt forced for over a decade to have Microsoft's logo in most keyboards I've had. I used to buy little stickers to cover the logo, now that I am deep into mechanical keyboards I buy cooler keycaps.

Keyboards are input devices and not limited to just Windows. Why is the damn logo there? The Meta key predates Microsoft by a long time.

I think if someone could come up with an IV that looks like the IBM logo that would be an awesome feature for all of Ivan's sets...I can see if I can do it, unless someone else wants to try their hand before I do... (*throws gauntlet down*)

Just out of curiosity, why is the Function Row for the JP keys like, circles with numbers in them?
not really sure, that's the one thing that I'm not a fan of with that set; guess I'm one of the few who likes that watermelony  colorway

Actually, that red and green colour is starting to grow on me. I'd just hope for different symbols for the function row on the JP keys...
Knock Knock.
Race Condition.
Who's there?

1990, inspired by some other typefaces from 1940's and 1970's. Open to suggestions on Windows logo alternates.

Use a simple "a" key to suggest alpha development which is what Windows has always been  ;D .

Not too worried about having the gawd awful Gatesie's Logo Monstrosity on my Keyboard, I just thought you'll try not to repeat that same perpetual disaster of blessing any decent keyboard with his horrible operating system logo.

Ivan you've got to be more imaginary when it comes to developing another Cherry dyesub key-set, at least make it yours so that everyone can see it's definitely different from every other one done previously.  Also drop support for Gatesie's Monstrosity because it's still a crime against humanity and you don't want to keep on promoting that moron's rubbish.
