Filco Wooden wrist rests
« on: Tue, 30 April 2013, 14:20:03 »
got these last week but only got around to taking pics today.

TKL and 60% Filco wooden wrist rests.  Big thanks to Keyboard Company for the fast shipping!

nice filco logo in upper right

Underside.  Not sure what the channels are for.  They're big enough to route some thin cables though.  The side anti slip pads raise it up a little but too.  I added the circular gecko strips though because they were't quick anti-slip enough for my taste.

Side profile.  There is a little bit of an angle on the lower half then the top half is straight.

Didn't open the 60% one.  That one will be saved for my GH60.

I'm very satisfied with these.  They exceeded my expectations.  I wasn't sure if I would like this enough to replace my Milestone Acrylic wrist rest which I have no problems with.  I like that angle of it whereas the Milestone was just flat across.  Eventually I will get the Filco Leather one too.

Wouldn't mind a picture of it with a keyboard, but I saw these last week, mighty tempting...

That wood is so ugly, they should have picked Cherry being that Diatec is a Japanese company and doesn't have that ugly grain to it.

I would rather have it colored than having this pattern for the wood.

I rather like the design of these.  Including the color and the wood grain.  Have not seen them available nowhere, however.

Oh thanks!  Seeing those prices, I'll stick with my current one.  Interestingly, the TKL size is more expensive than full.

Cocobolo, almond or mango would have been my choice of wood. They are a little softer but pretty interesting to look at.

The wood looks like it might be ash. The cuts in the bottom may help to prevent the wood from cupping if the bottom gets damp.

Yea, it could also be oak. They both have a similar appearance but it's more than likely ash since ash tends to be cheaper
