Oh yes please, add some programming stuff! I'd love to see this on a macropad!

Initially I was like: why? But that's actually not a bad idea.

I image icons for:
- debugging: run, break, step, next
- build, rebuild, execute, test
- (there must be more)

will do :thumb:
still waiting for updates from the manufacturer.
At this point, I'm starting to also consider DSA.

I’d be out if it went DSA, sadly. Row 3 SA? I know nothing about how different key caps affect what can be done, legends wise, though.

I don't hate DSA, but it would definitely make me less excited for this set. Would still probably pick up a couple kits though.

Oh man freaking awesome do we have confirmation it's going to be slick glossy PBT KAM (a la KAM Starry Night) and not matte PBT KAM (a la KAM Wraith)?

I plan to order samples for both finishes.
I initially thought about going for glossy finish tho since it'd look more classy and modern (IMO) :thumb:

Here's my two cents on glossy, based on my experience with KAM Little Pilot:
  • It looks nice, but sometimes the shine highlights imperfections in the plastic. This detail does not come across in renderings.
  • Typing on slippery keycaps is not as nice.
  • Glossy catches more light reflections, which can detract from the beautiful legends on this set.

I really like this! It's awesome to have a handful of vertical keys outside of the ergo kit — I have a Moonlander with only six vertical keys, and I always end up saying that I'll just put 1u keys on them because I'm not buying a full ergo kit.

But if only it was KAT profile instead of KAM... Can't do well in flat profiles  :-[

something like this pretty much has to be a uniform profile. Ok, the base kit could be KAT, but pretty as it is, the base kit is not what this is primarily about. It's about all the novelties for all the different programs and work flows. And everyone is going to use them differently. One person will put the Photoshop "brush" key on B, another will put it on the f row, another will put it on a macropad. Unless you make all the keys the same height, you're guaranteed to mess up the majority of people's conceptions for how to fit them in.

Hey, I finally received the first batch of samples (featuring matte finish) and I'm actually super satisfied by the dye sub quality, the legends being clean and sharp.

Some colors need obviously some tweaking (especially the base color) but I can say without fear that the project will happen, and that I can finally start to work on the different updates and adjustments regarding the kitting of the set :D

New samples will be submitted soon.
I don't think I'll go for glossy finish though.

As usual, I keep you in touch. Thanks again for supporting this project <3

Please don't mind the quality of the pics below, I did not have the time to shoot with strobes etc.

So nice, definitely going to be a wallet burner for me - so many kits to grab - excite for the gb  👍

- A little sad about loss of glossy finish though. Personally, one of the draw about KAM was the glossy finish.

Awesome. Biip, did you get any samples with homing bars? That’s the only area of concern for me (the haloing on KAM Wraith a was a bit a disappointment).
Ortho. Always.

I did receive those, with the hallo issue.
But the manufacturer confirmed me that they'll fix the mold :thumb:

Man matte finish is a real bummer.

KAM in shiny just looks so nice and unique and to me makes sets pop over the matte finish.

Thanks so much for posting these. I think the photos are great for what they are.

From what I can tell, maybe it would be good to adjust some of the colours for better contrast. Especially the blues and maybe the green. Maybe go with slightly thicker legends?*

In any case, this is very interesting. Would be nice to see a few samples in glossy, should they later arrive, just to help.

*Then again, if the base colour becomes more gray as in the renders, I guess maybe the legend colours don't need to be adjusted much at all.

Matte finish seems sensible. Glossy would surely lower the readability of the legends. I'm still hoping for DSA though.

I'm a little worried about the red legends. They're weaker than the rest in terms of contrast and readability, yet they also seem to 'vibrate' a little, as red/blue combinations often do.

If you make the red darker, they'll be even less readable. If you lighten it while retaining saturation, they'll vibrate even more. If you lighten it while decreasing saturation, it'll no longer look red, but pink. I wonder if you'll end up having to decrease the saturation and brightness of the base blue a little.

By the way, the =/+ legend seems weighted a little too low perhaps.

I think the blue base colour of the keycap material is a bit off from what it's supposed to be, which is grayer/blacker/darker.

So I think we'd have to see the change in base material colour before fully assessing the legends.

I'm really glad that it will be matte finish.  I'm in!  I hope the base color will be much darker and much more greyish, like the renderings.
