I tried dactyl manuform but I don't feel well when my thumb is moved to the bottom columns in the thumb cluster.
Now I am using two keys per thumb, but I want to place more keys on my thumb.
Any other thumb cluster designs?

An example keyboard with a thumb arc is the Keyboardio Model 01 (https://shop.keyboard.io/), fwiw. I've seen a number of DIY keyboards with arcs too.

Thumb arcs were common in Japanese ergonomic keyboards in the '80s and '90s. Sometimes a continuation of a more traditional bottom row of modifiers. Sometimes trapezoidal keycaps. Sometimes different widths of keys in the arc. Here's an example (https://deskthority.net/wiki/NEC_PC-8801-KI).
Check also the Esrille (https://www.esrille.com/keyboard/) for a modern version.
Check also out Xah Lee's site (http://xahlee.info/kbd/ergonomic_keyboard_history_index.html) for more examples and his gallery of ergo DIY keyboards (http://xahlee.info/kbd/diy_keyboards_index.html).

thank you!! I think I will go with a thumb arc, and replace the thumb cluster in dactyl or dactyl-manuform.

I was thinking of finding or hacking an ErgoDox but with detachable thumb clusters so the thumb area is interchangeable. I like the basic layout, but am unsure of the optimal thumb layout, so I'd like to try several setups without having to remake the entire keyboard.
Anyone else seen such a thing already, or have the same ideas?

Here is a decent listing of thumb clusters:

missing ReDox though, which may be closer to what you're looking for?
