This is everybody's wishes except it will be hard to guarantee unless we got someone who's near by signature plastic to make sure the color sample matches exactly.

SP has a limited palette of colors to choose from.  I have color samples from them so I should be able to choose he best match possible.

Think they also offer custom colors... but obviously that is out of our reach financially.

As I said on the last thread:

People who use Cherry doubleshots in ANSI keyboards taken from an ISO keyboard miss those 3 keys that I marked blue plus the keys that standard moogle kit has.

I think we'll have you covered.  ANSI left shift will be part of the base kit, so that just leaves enter and backslash to complete the ISO->ANSI adapter kit.

Whether it will be too expensive to be practical and whether we can even get the extra SVGs made are still open questions.

Also, will it also depend on their current mixes of dye formula? I ordered  some PBT caps from the inventory. Same color codes I requested for different rows of keys. They turn out to be  a bit different in close comparison.

Hmmm interesting.  I don't think that's something that we could influence in any way regardless of our proximity to SP.  For ABS plastic at least, I'm pretty sure they buy it from a third party.  We had to wait on a shipment of BDH for my RGBY buy.

I agree.  I think the only real question is what will the Dolch colors be.  Kisa is going to let me compare my samples with his Dolch keys.

Wow... Just wow... So... It doesn't cost anything extra, yet it is "unfair"... I'm not seeing anything unfair about it. You just order that many more of those keys and charge me the money for them. It's not "unfair", it is "nice". If I were the organizer of a GB, I would let everybody order ONLY the keys that they wanted. You can hold me to that word too.

I guess the only way you'd let me have any of those keys separately would be if a windows hater volunteered to let me buy them from their kit. And you just ship them to me instead of them. Or is that also "unfair"?

I don't want you to go away with hard feelings man.  What you're asking is unreasonable though.  These are kits, not individual keys.

Ya, Ed, hope you can understand that we don't have that large of a order base to make fully customized kit a reasonable path. And if you can prove to us otherwise, I think we will all be more than happy to join your group buy.

7bit ended up getting rid of tons of kits or some simply ended up unreasonable priced. And you are talking about a lot more people than we got here pre-ordering all kinda different things in GB4

+1 support for "Control" rather than "caps lock"

And I'd like to float the idea of OSX modifiers in the Cherry style.

I support both of these ideas.

I didn't understand it the first time so that's the reason I repeated it. English is not my main language and sometimes I missunderstand posts :P

Now as I tsangan pointed out I see that Shifts are covered for the moment.

If there is enough interest I would like to have those 2 keys, obviously it depends on what people demand. Not going to force anyone to include them in the Group Buy as I asked for them as a suggestion.

Thanks for the work.

Also I'm interested in Anti Caps Lock too. The best way to know if people really wants Control to replace Caps Lock in the main kit is a Poll to see how many people would prefer that option.

Main kit it won't be feasible because a lot more people use regular layout, but as a add-on kit it's definitely likely to happen with the current interest.

OS X People, my idea is dead simple, see if you're ok with it.

The only thing that *I'd* like is a "Command" key to replace the Windows logo key.
I'd like to keep it simple, as that will help it become a reality.

The base kit will definitely have a Win key.  A command key add-on is a possibility, but I haven't seen a ton of demand for it.

I'm somewhat interested in a Moogle kit, they look nice.

I think it would be nice if we could find a generic symbol that everyone agrees on a good replacement for windows. Tho I'd guess there would be a bunch of people who think that the windows key is nice and shouldn't be changed.

The whole point of this kit is to replicate OEM Cherry keys as closely as possible. Why would we replicate it selectively?

Can someone take a pic of a cherry windows key and moogle windows key?

Yes, last round's legends were too thick all around.  The RGBY legends are much better, and we're planning to redo Caps Lock/Win/Menu in a similar vein.

Left pic shows R2 moogles against real Cherry keys.  Middle shows RGBY against R2 moogle.  Right shows RGBY against Cherry (with moogles and aggiejy's RGB set on bottom).

Was it changed in round 2? I have a picture from one of Reapers boards. And the windows logo looks like it covers more then half the key. I recently got a moogle and it seems smaller. I don't have a pic of them side by side but you can see the difference in pics of the sets on boards. Or is it an optical illusion?

The first picture is moogle kit R2 which used a different cutter to make the font more wide, but also made win/menu key thicker also

The second picture is from moogle kit R1 where we used the normal cutter so the fonts were really thin and didn't match the Cherry font, but the win/menu keys looked good

You're back!

How about this, we make for you your own special set where you can pick and choose from any of the keys and if its not there you can tell us what you want and we'll make it for you! Not only that you can pick whatever style you want AND you pay less! What do you say?

I think we should use the standard SP Win and Menu keys (i.e., R1), the Ctrl/Alt/Shift from RGBY, and a new Caps Lock legend made to match RGBY.

^ Lets do this.

Throwing it out there as well, if we're redesigning the caps lock, could we not do it in the handbag style? I'm not fussed either way but it could be quite nice.

^ Lets do this.

Throwing it out there as well, if we're redesigning the caps lock, could we not do it in the handbag style? I'm not fussed either way but it could be quite nice.
Are you suggesting just handbag or handbag + "Caps Lock"?

I think we should use the standard SP Win and Menu keys (i.e., R1), the Ctrl/Alt/Shift from RGBY, and a new Caps Lock legend made to match RGBY.

People will be on the fence on that as EU users might be used to it but ANSI users are used to "Caps Lock"
