Gateron Hippo Switch Review
« on: Sun, 04 April 2021, 09:32:19 »
Hey all,

I'm back from my brief break from switch reviewing and coming hard and fast with a review of a new, unreleased, and only barely teased switch in the form of Kinetic Labs' Gateron Hippo. Only just announced nine days ago, these are the very first Gateron switch to have a majority UHMWPE stem setting them up to be a historical first for the company. Do they stack up to other UHMWPE stemmed switches out there though? Do they even stack up to Gateron's other custom colored clones? You're definitely going to want to take a look here and find out:

Great review! Honestly looking forward to Gateron using this new type of stem in some tactiles, as I'm not a huge fan of linears, as it seems like a definite improvement over some of their previous stuff I've been hesitant to try or buy. And depending on the spring weights available once that eventuality happens, I'd either get a higher weight spring stock or mod in a higher weight spring. Either way, seems like a definite improvement compared to when I read about most Gaterons and see "Like Cherry switches, but a little worse in some places, better in others," as the final conclusion.
