Here's a sneak peak that answers both your questions.  Snapped it last night while taking over my kids' play area.  That's 35 sets in stacks.  Now all 150 are!  I'll post the set later tonight.

Yeah, just "quickly" checked 20,700 keys. No biggie.

To be fair, they are all in bags of 138 keys with the two biggest at the bottom.  All the bags except one had no pokes/holes in them, and that one was just a slight puncture hole from the sharp-ass space bar.  I was worried when I saw the box at FedEx from Germany - International Shipping really messes up heavy boxes, but they looked good.  I won't ship out any without doing another look over, too.

Not a participant, but for orders that go to germany $25 is just enough to trigger customs (and the delay that they cause). Everything I ever ordered that was declared as $20 went through without any problem though. There are probably countries where this is limit even lower I guess.

$20 sounds fine, but I am not interested in committing export shipping fraud.  Not sure if I can go much lower than that regarding value.

Just an anectdote, I was a participant in keyclack's recent PS2AVRGB keyboard kits, and asked jchan to mark the parcel as $20.50 value (I am UK-based). Due to the currency deterioration post-Brexit, even that amount is too high and it triggers the customs tax threshold. I ended up having to pay £13 on a package that was marked $20.5 (£17). I would prefer trying to avoid this if at all possible.

Interesting.  This is where running a group but really exposes some of the international commerce issues.  Why do you all pay such a high tax on something sent to you?   The value of this product is around $100USD. Would you have to pay approx. another $100 to get it?  That seems absurd.

Not really, but $15 + 25% of the total inc shipping.
Sub $30 (inc shp) usually goes unnoticed.

In the UK we have to pay 20% VAT on anything that has a value over £15. Once the value of the item is over £15 then you pay the VAT on the value plus the shipping cost. On top of that the Royal Mail charge £8 just to collect the fee.

So, for an item worth £15.01 with shipping £10, the total extra charge is £13. For an item worth £15 there is no charge.

I think the limit is supposed to be £34 rather than £15 if the item is a gift between individuals.

In Germany, there is no tax whatsoever for an item value under 22 EUR. There is 19% import turnover tax for item value between 22 EUR and 150 EUR and there may be additional import taxes for values above that depending on the type of wares. There usually isn't any addidtional charge for items related to computers/computer parts, at least I've never paid more than the 19% import turnover. Customs officials usually have no idea what computer keycaps cost or assume them to be low in value.

But the most annoying thing about customs is the additional delay in recieving shipments. Sometimes the damn customs processing takes weeks.

Sent out my first round of shipping yesterday.  I underestimated the amount of work it is going to be to ship out all these sets.  Please bear with me as I continue to get these sets out.  My life has a lot of responsibilities: full time job, divorced father of two, and hosting family for the holidays.  You'll get your sets!

Please check the main page for status updates.

Yes.  Paypal will notify you of your USPS Tracking Number as soon as I ship all domestic packages.  I will be sure to send yours manually as well.  Have a good day, sir!

My humble guess is none, unless you have the key depressed. At least that's what I experienced with Hyperfuse. If I use my phone flashlight and put a cap on it it only shines through the legends and not the white part.

My R1 Hyperfuse has no shine through.  With R2 some of the legends glow. Go figure.

I used diffused green instead of normal green LEDs on this build, so they are not as bright as some LEDs.  Saw a small amount of shine through on the F/J caps because they are scooped and thinner.

Wanted this to look light-saberish.

hah. well, when you throw a set on your own board, i would love to see what it looks like with backlight. i'm interested to see how much bleed there is on these white caps

I used diffused green instead of normal green LEDs on this build, so they are not as bright as some LEDs.  Saw a small amount of shine through on the F/J caps because they are scooped and thinner.

Wanted this to look light-saberish.

hot damn, that looks good!

Thanks guys!  Got 15 more packages (Domestic) packaged, going to do some international over the weekend as well.  Question for international shipments: the post office told me they only do by weight, not size.  I've shipped to Japan, will be shipping to Europe and Asia next.  So let's see how pricing works out there.  I might have to change my packaging.  If international shipping prices exceed what you paid, I may ask for a tip to help make up the difference.   Until then...

Yeah, it is a nice set but I am trying to cut down my collection. Sold it for cost + shipping.
