This will use an updated architecture that I've been working on. If 268 was V2 .1, this is V2.1 .2. There have been a few changes needed just to work out any kinks etc; nothing notable though.

With this, I just want a perfectly matching TKL + pad (all info will cover both). The design will stay classy and very simple. The main change is increasing bezels from 4.6/3mm to 6/4mm - I think this will work much better aesthetically. I felt that 268 was almost too thin at first (although now it's really nice). I've also increased the corner fillet, increased the edge fillet a tiny bit, increased the size of the N cutout by >.5mm, and kept pretty much everything else the same. I think it works very well as is.

I'll either have the PCB green or red; it'd be interesting to hear what people think on this. Planning USB-C, this probably won't change. Sorry about your cables, but it's time for an upgrade! ;)

I'd also like to do a limited version (probably 1 of 30) where participants can choose anodizing color freely, similar to what happened with 268 AG. I think it's going to bring some really interesting builds/combinations. Matching custom colored TKL + pad sounds dreamy to me. :'(

There will be 99% 100% be a winkey version for the TKL; just too lazy to mock it up (it isn't hard to imagine!) - I doubt I'll won't do small blockers as I don't think they're that great. Standard key choice things: split backspace/right shift/left shift; stepped caps; ISO enter; maybe 1.25u bottom row; no split spacebar crap. Numpad will have all split keys available, and no additional blockers.

Keeping the starting price sub $400 for the TKL, and sub $175 (complete guess though) is my main goal here. I'm not too sure what the price increase from 65% to 80% is, but it shouldn't be enough that it requires a $30 increase lol. Planning on starting this shortly after I finish 268/268 AG, which will be next month (hopefully)! Probably a 3 month turnaround.

Already happening

Yeah maybe, currently 19mm, could always shorten that but might have consequences with CNC difficulty.

What case colors will be available outside the possible limited edition stuff? I love me some dark gray like the mockups are.

Very cool definitely love Xondat's past designs and excited to see he is now doing a tkl with matching numpad.

Also really excited to see what colors for the limited edition people are looking to get. I know I would like to do some kind of green as that is a color I don't see too often but I think the dark red on the Singa r1 would also be cool.

Keep up the good work Xondat.  :thumb:

YES! Finally a tkl design from you. This saves me the trouble of having to buy an elemento, but now I have to spend some on the pad as well. Anyway super excited for this buy, count me in. Also the pcb should be red. Most of your boards look black/red anyway, would just match the scheme.

Not decided yet. Definitely Black, Silver, and Dark Gray. Down to do Red, and maybe a Navy.

Wrong thread m8

$%#@ me! I like it so much I think I'll try to get into this GB too. Take it easy on my wallet mate!

Hopefully little effort needs to be made, judging by the comments, I think there will be a quite high quantity. Should be easier on your wallet too

Interesting, will the limited editions have different weight cut outs/serial numbers like the 268?

If I can think of something new ;D

What configuration of materials does the stated 2.4kg weight refer to?  All aluminum?  With brass options?

Aluminum plate for both :)

For the sample PCBs, I'll order red and make my choice after that. Might as well mix it up a bit!

P.S. Added a hole that'll be on all plates for the reset button (for when programming). It's the worst thing when you're done assembling a case and need to undo 10 screws to press it :'(

You do understand what the point of running a special limited edition is right? :P

Also, if its like 268 ag, its not 30 cerakote, its 30 custom colors and then a smaller cap on cerakote as he has to take them and get them finished himself.

He wants it limited on purpose, not because he is unaware of demand.

Sorry I'm still pretty new here.  So in a case like this, would there be a lottery when demand outstrips supply?  Or just FCFS?

Everything will be FCFS for this since I think there are plenty to go around over the two versions :p

I'll be doing a limited version of 30 because 1) keeps the custom stuff smaller, and easier; 2) I like limited stuff; 3) makes them even more special ;D

An optimistic, yet poor one.
