I have been wearing Dr Martens (8053 shoes and 1460 boots) for damn near 25 years now. I have learned to hate the ones produced since 2003 overseas (well, compared to in the UK). Quality is just not the same. I have a new pair of 8053s coming in tomorrow - I expect they will be from Vietnam; still debating if I will keep them or not. If I don't, I think I will go for some Solovair 551s instead. Just wish one of the other NPS brands had a 5 eyelet shoe. Some stock pics :

I had never heard of Gel Lytes before i started exploring GH here, and I'm in love with the way they look. I'm considering going for a pair but I'm not sure which ones I like best. I was looking at the Grey/gold High Voltage, the Grey/Red Crane or the Mid/Dark grey Alpine blast versions. Which are your favorites from those, or perhaps ones I'm over looking?

Wow, 120 for GL3's. In Australia, general releases are 180 and collabs (like this one) are 220. Thank you weak dollar + Australia tax

I still have a pair of UK made steel toe 10 eyelet docs that i bought in 2000.
I bought 3 pairs of the non uk made stuff and they never lasted more than a year and a half.

I'm definitely going to give Solovair a try! ;D ;D ;D

Got these two pairs for £25 each the other day with the Adidas pair thrown in as a freebie. The burgundy brogues are definitely Italian, can't make out any info from the other pair. Either way, both have very, very nice leather.

I really liked the asics Gel Respectors in terms of comfort and the look. I didn't really like the OG Aster Purple or the other color ways. Finally, some great colors are coming out and my local shop is getting the Gel Respector Premium Casual pack in this weekend.
