Demiurge

~Updates~
- 9.1.2022:
After extensive testing and feedback gathered from the members of the Finnish mech community (Thank you so much everyone! <3), I decided to revise a lot of the design.
I was not fully satisfied with the mounting method of the v1 prototype, so I decided to go back to the original idea of the board; PCB gasket or plate top mount, pick your poison.
I also decided to reduce the gap between the macro columns and the main cluster to .25u from the .5u it was previously, this also means ditching the indicator LEDs in the blocker (there's still an option for an in switch indicator LED for caps lock).
Next up, the PCB: as many of you know, microchip availability and pricing has been really hit an miss recently, and although it's getting better, I decided to play it safe and migrate the PCB to an RP2040 based design for better pricing and more stable availability. (Alps support also added after viewing IC feedback. ISO on a separate plate and PCB.)
Lastly, the weight, I heard you, the logo was not a good choice. Weight engraving has been changed to a text one, featuring the boards name. (see render.)

-9.22.2022:
V2 prototype ordered

-10.31.2022:
V2 Prototype received and built. Overall I'm very pleased with the revised design. It's quite a loud board with the PC plate and TTC Wilds, but the sound profile and typing feel are very pleasant in both gasket and top mount configs. I need to get some different plates in to test, but I don't think this will require another redesign lol.

~v2 specifications~
- 60% WKL XT layout
- 6 degree angle
- Seamless, "screwless" design
- PCB Gasket or Plate Top
- Big through weight
- SKUF feet
- RP2040 based PCB with integrated USB-C, ESD, all the bells and whistles
- layout support:

~V2 Proto Pics~

~TODO~
- Gather feedback on a few design elements.
- Order another prototype with the possible changes.
- Order different plate materials.
- Determine colors.
- Determine unit count based on interest.
- Reach out to vendors.
- Figure out pricing.
- GB!

~Renders~
More

~Vendors~

- TBD

Very big thanks to
More
- Hali for sanity checking my designs.
- Ari for hyping this idea up since day one.
- all my friends in the hobby who believed in me and kept pushing me to not post vaporware for once.

Can you add alps support to the pcb? Even if you dont make an alps plate, its a nice touch.

Second the Alps PCB support request, would 100% pick up one of these for an Alps build.

Lovely design, great work!

The board looks good. The comments about the screws being visible from the top only seems to be a thing in the render. Perhaps it's a screw size issue but wouldn't all screwless boards have this issue? I think the question of doing screwless at all these days is a better take personally. I'm indifferent.

I think it does enough different from the Jubi to differentiate before it comes up but it does seem similar.

it's not a screw size issue, just the angle you're looking at the board from and as puddsy said, black hardware would make it pretty much invisible

Oh yeah this board just screams hubristic. When I saw it I went "yep that is so hubristic". Definitely one of the more hubristic boards to date.  I can barely imagine a more hubristic board, that's how undeniably hubristic it is.

This looks super interesting, will there be a WK or HHKB top option on this? Plate top mount and plateless gasket sound like they'll be fun
