Very interested!
On one of your old keycap performance sheets you list 3 different heights for the "Standard (M8)" profile, any possibility of you reviving all 3?Show Image
Check out the Gateron Melodics. They are another clicky switch from Gateron that uses a click leaf. Although this one is different from the SKCM ALPS style one Zeal's Clikiez uses, it resembles the mantis leaf used in Tai-Hao APC switches or Xiang Min KSB-C switches. I haven't tried yet myself, but have heard good things.
This is probably the strangest switch I have. It's a mx clone called dai ichi yellow, it's this very strange mx clone made by this random manufacturer that there is like no info on at all or I just missed it for some reason.
The weird thing about it is that it has a click leaf, unlike other mx clones, which confuses me a lot. I don't think I've seen a switch do this apart from those zeal clickiez which apparently have a click jacket. It actually feels alright, like if you gave me this I would probably type on and be fine and like it. It's a lot more tactile when not in a keyboard though. I looked around and someone said that there was binding with the switches, I only have one cause it was sent alongside another switch that will be in a small build.Show Image
Yeah this is a pretty odd switch, almost a mix of Pro World clickies & Tawain Jet Axis switches!
this song is played out af to the point I hear it being bumped at a Safeway during mid-afternoon, BUT I still like the way it hits my ear. A lot of good tonal shifts, in that the beat doesn't drone on and bore you midway through like so many other played-out 'modern classics.'
I've participated in a number of collectible hobbies over several decades. Participating in the keyboard hobby for 3/4 of a year has been short-lived but enjoyable. My touch-typing has more than doubled in speed, I now own 7 keyboards with 2 more group-buys on the way, I gave another keyboard to my son.... I have 40% to 100% boards, Topre, Buckling-Spring, etc.... I probably am $3K-$4K into this hobby, but as far as hobbies go, that is low cost to be pretty immersed with key brands and technologies of the hobby. Definitely no regrets, but I feel a bit like I've already hit the end of the internet with this one. It definitely needs to go more upscale, somehow. I'll still stay engaged, but there hardly is any next thing I seek. The depth and breadth of the hobby is only slightly deeper than the vacuum collecting and snow blower collecting communities I've participated in... nothing like watches, cameras, knives, TV's, stereos, leather boots or even the barista coffee machine collecting communities, etc....
This may be an unpopular keyboard opinion.
I am digging the Logitech MX Mechanical Mini... Do not even use any other boards anymore.
It even has browns...
I love it.
