So its a top mount with a rubber gasket under it?

How does that compare with rubber gasket on top and bottom?

So is this top mounted, with a gasket underneath? Is the gasket just for sound isolation then?

Hi Exclusive. I think you should consider making this more of a sandwich mount like 356mini instead of top mount in order to take advantage of the gasket more.

Otherwise, the design looks great :thumb:! I'm excited for the polycarb version!

Based on the renders, it looks like the gasket is optional (you can choose to exclude it from the build if you prefer). Is that correct? If so, that adds some nice versatility to this board. It will be interesting to hear typing tests of the prototype with and without the gasket installed.

Nice project! Some constructive feedback :P Mostly just my 2 cents.
The side bezels look too thin to me to justify the left blocker, as someone in our slack said it's taller than it's wide which makes it looks weird.
Truth is block wider than it`s tall

Fantastic work again! I will be in for one or two. I will be grabbing WK with blockers in Silver PVD/e-white/e-black for sure.

A couple of questions if you don't mind:

  • To confirm the board is QMK?
  • Any samples of e-black?
  • Any idea on timescales so I can start saving?  ;D
Pcb is QMK and e black sample will get when chinese new year vaction  end ,

From somone ask why there is have top mount options and also have gasket mount

1st as i said it before is 100% gasket mount

here is my personal explain :

you can see here we will get a oring put in there between pcb and plate

then this pic
bottom to the top distance is 8mm.

then bottom also have boss about 3.5mm, however plate is 1.5

so we get space almost 3mm between pcb and plate but we will put 4mm oring to the space

when top and bottom was screwed,it will compress oring from 4mm to 3mm ,oring will push the plate up

2nd,oring is under plate but outside the pcb so will touch the boss when we are type we will get feeback from oring

that is how gasket work .

3rd,somone ask why not two oring (on top and bottom ) because when we screw up ,oring will push plate go up .

during type we push plate down then oring  will give feedback but if have two oring plate will be hang so there is no

feedback due to one push up and one push down

4th,gasket will do not need screw to top .if ppl do not want gasket mount ,use 8 screws m2,5 →it will be top mount as E7

when you want gasket mount just do not need screw up to top

thanks here is my explain ,not good at english hope ppl can understand it . lol

I think some people are concerned that the gasket (made with rubber?) may turn softer or age to a less elastic state after some time of use and there will be some fit issues between the plate the the case as time goes by, so having a top mount backup plan isn't too bad.

That said, maybe providing an additional set of gaskets in the kit for potential backup?

awesome design. i wasn't a fan of the e8/e6 design language but this is much more suited to my tastes. i also really dig the weight design. i'm probably in for one (depending on ano colors available) but i would love to see this design (including gasket mount) in a tkl too!

as someone mentioned above, the width of the sides of the top piece seem a bit too narrow in comparison to both the width of the top and bottom of the top piece and the depth of the top piece. a little thicker there improves would improve how it looks to me.

great job with this excluisve.

Been waiting for this for a while now. Can't decide if I love or hate that hhkb-ish layout, but I think I'm leaning toward love. I'd like to see some  more renders of that layout with keycaps if possible. Great design and really excited about being able to get in on this. Fingers crossed I see it soon enough and can find the cash when it makes it to GB.

I was under the impression that was about the blocker, and not the bezel itself
