Hi! Welcome to the GMK Dandy Interest Check!

I follow a more simple design philosophy, and like for my keysets to reflect it. Subtle but with a little something to it.

Dandy features a few of the more subtle, slightly warmer stock colors from GMK, and draws simple inspiration for colors from dandelions.

Neat. Curious but in what order are sets gonna run? PONO first and then Dandy? What's the timeline like? I don't think it's the best idea to run multiple ICs simultaneously.

Another thing -- I personally would not suggest doing a no-numpad base kit unless you are expecting them to hit 500-1000 MOQs.

Really dig the simplicity here. I'm more of a text + icons dude, but I would certainly be in for this kit at the right price point.

Pono is OG Walker, this is Sour. I think OGWalker just did the renders, unless I missed something.

Either way - I love a green set and can't wait for this

I see you've chosen GMK stock colors so it's probably not going to happen, but why not ePBT? I don't see much advantage in using GMK for something like this.

PoN - Pink on Navy is Walker's set, Pono is my own set, correct. He reached out and asked if there would be any issues with naming, I didn't think so.

Kits are not final, not really expecting anything at this stage (numbers wise or anything wise) other than to put up an IC, see where it goes, what kind of interest there is.

Pono's IC will be wrapping up soon. Handling everything as it needs to be handled, no issues so far, sir. :thumb:

I see you've chosen GMK stock colors so it's probably not going to happen, but why not ePBT? I don't see much advantage in using GMK for something like this.

To put it simply, stock colors, there is no messing about with matching. The subtley of these specific colors together should make for a nice, clean and simple look, with a little pop to it.
Would like to run some PBT soon, when I feel a little more confident with a manu and the PBT offerings with regards to consistency and QC (receiving warped and bowed keys is always so off-putting), also potentially get the opportunity to try a couple more profiles I'm curious about.

I do recall some people complaining about warping on iso enter for extended 2048. A few of the keys I got with that set had some slight imperfections around the bases, though the legends were really nice (better than my one gmk set, imho). Anyway, I respect your reasons. glwic!

Love the keycaps, I just believe it makes no sense to pick a UK vendor for EU mid 2020 when there is the risk the set will land in 2021 once UK is out of EU and we will have to pay customs for it, so I will pass on it.
Just to be clear I have absolutely nothing against ProtoTypist.

As long as the GB happens in 2020, you won't pay customs.

I’m afraid this is not accurate. There is no regulation that says that there will be no taxes or custom costs applied. Customs get paid on delivery of the goods, and after December 31st 2020 UK will officially be a foreign country subject to custom verifications.
Even the simple fact that something goes through that process can lead to higher costs due to customs handling of the package.

Please consider including a 40s kit similar to, if not the same as, Modern Dolch Light.

Even the simple fact that something goes through that process can lead to higher costs due to customs handling of the package.

You'll have to check this with Jae, because this is what he said:
Proto[Typist] is acting as lead vendor on this one, doing the negotiating with GMK etc and running the GB with the designer after talking about the project at a UK meetup and is effectively a UK community project.

I understand the concerns, and GMK timelines still show the set shipping in October. From delivery to buyer shipping turnaround will be 1 day, so its highly likely that shipping will occur in 2020 and we will be working with GMK to achieve that.

Whilst you are right that we dont know the UK's position within the EU and any shipping / VAT or other constraints in 2021, there are contingency plans in place to ensure that shipping can be conducted without inference of additional fees should delivery of the GMK sets take place in 2021.

Also, VAT will be paid on these items at point of sale where it is due; and will be marked as such when shipped if any delays push the delivery into 2021. The GB takes place as an EU transaction at the moment and is bound by the single market and customs union rules. Those rules state that goods sold under them should only be inclusive of VAT once. There will be many many businesses that sell something in 2020 that ships and is delivered after the changes take place; and both the EU and UK have said that those customers should not be impacted.

Finally, its highly likely that the current end-date of Dec 2020 for the UK to formally leave the EU trade agreements will be extended given the impact the Corona Virus has had on the economy and this is something myself and my accountant are paying close attention to.

Nice kit, Sour! Definitely not tired of green sets yet :D It would be nice to see at least one novelty key, accented or otherwise, in the base kit for F13 coverage.

Hey man! Thank you, glad you like! :D
Had another draft of base with some novelties in it, might look to revisit, thank you for the suggestion!

Man, I find this so calming and nice. I can only hope ecream is going to be an actual color for the think.

Keep up the good work guys.  :thumb: :clover:

I quite like this at a first glance! I prefer lighter sets and this one has a really nice colour combo going on. Definitely putting on watch :)

I recently dropped on your other project, Pono. You make my bank account very sad. Overall it looks great!

Any chance of running this set though ePBT or Infinikey? Green on white is dye sub-able and the wait times might not be as long (also cheaper, also PBT)

EDIT: question answered earlier, didn't see it at first :P
