[IC] Custom Model M keycap Group buy! (Pic in thread)
« on: Tue, 12 May 2015, 07:47:51 »

Hey guys, I have reached out to Fentek to obtain a currently remaining inventory for Model M caps.
I'm personally looking to recreate what you see in this picture. (to me its one of the few custom color cap setups that actually work on a model m, idk seems like a classic video game pixel look, but I digress.)

Would anyone be interested in a GB on this set or possibly something similar for model m caps?

thanks!

The unicomp color selections come close to that, but no white legends.

Does Fentek still sell pad printed buckling spring keys?

Edit: And I am interested.

Fentek actually said they stopped making Model m keycaps
So this would be the end of the road.
Waiting on an inventory list now and try and make this happen.

Oh yeah, if Fentek aren't making them any more, that means Unicomp or nothing.

I'm Curious as well, waiting on them to respond with the current inventory and then we can put a set together,
Those white legends on the red look great eh?

Good luck with this.  I've tried to work with Fentek in the past, and "waiting for them to respond" is a core feature of the experience.

In fact, I believe I am in fact still waiting for them to respond to a query from 2013...

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!

Except for the white legends, everything else is doable via Unicomp or home dying.

And if one of those "buckling spring stem to cherry keycap" projects gets in a good state then a whole range of options open up.

I believe you Sam.  I do recall going to the site and getting no response from them at all.  (I think that was around Jan-Feb)  I really don't know, are they doing any business at all, or just ignoring Model M requests?

Edit:
Very new to geekhack and the mech board community. All I have is the Unicomp Spacesaver, though I'm getting a Cherry blue board soon.
I'm assuming these keycaps will work with my Unicomp? Thanks!

When I reached out to them I got a response from 1 person and then another person in the company reached back out to me a few hours later thanking me for the email, etc.. I emailed back today and we will see.
I reverse image search for that photo on the original post leads us to http://shop.hooleon.com/ Which No one can seem to get ahold of.

Unfortunately I suspect from the lack of updates, nope...
Model M Industrial, SSK, Unicomp 104, Code TKL MX Green, FC660M MX Green + Clear + White + Grey, FC660C Topre 45g, MagicForce 68 USB and Bluetooth, Whitefox, some optical switch 65% Bluetooth split spacebar thing ... wait, I think I need an intervention. Too late, there’s a couple of new Model Fs on the way.
Too much SA is never enough.
