Places to get one-off custom keysets?
« on: Wed, 22 July 2015, 01:12:48 »
Hey I'm wondering if there are either sites or artisans who make one-offs of custom keysets in uncommon colors (blanks).
If that isn't a common thing, are there any threads with info about painting keycaps?

What sort of colours are you looking for? SP sells blanks in DCS and DSA in their PMK store: http://keyshop.pimpmykeyboard.com/products/blank-key-packs It'll be a decent amount of cash to outfit a board that way, but possible.

I think WASD still does custom sets? Never was sure exactly how that worked though.

You could also get white PBT caps and dye them -- there are a few resources around for that as well.

Hmmm, yeah dyed caps might be a decent option.
I wanted to make a set with light and dark grey, light and dark green of a similar tone, a skin-like pink and a blood red. I've looked at a few sites like PMK and WASD but they only have a kind of standard set of colors and I wanted some hues that were a bit more specific than what they offer.

Guess I'll do a site search for dyeing keycaps, thanks.
