I'm upgrading from being a long time lurker and want to start off by thanking everyone who contributed the amazingly helpful advice that got me from being a casual user to being a builder of keyboards.
I was gifted my first mechanical keyboard from a friend, the widow of an actual rocket scientist, just before Covid. It reminded me of the great joy of writing on a proper typewriter and I was hooked. Being a maker I've never been satisfied with just owning something, I have to make it my own. This website helped me get through the growing pains of "what is a switch?" "why do they have different colours?" and so on. It also helped knowing I wasn't alone.
