A red keycap or two seem to suit a black RealForce perfectly!

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, having good light makes a huge difference, even with an iPhone or whatever.  When I want to take a picture of a board, I bring it into the kitchen where there's a lot more light. :)

Thankiesss~ I'm really enjoying the purple and lime/bright green theme. This HHKB will probably stay this way for a long time, while adding more purple and green, with hints of white/transparent and grey, if I can :D

There was one sold on ebay about a year back. Of course, these caps came from the blank white RF keycap set which has been long gone. Even to this day, I regret not spending that $330 to get it... stupid. It was a white RF 87U 55g with stock caps PLUS the full blank white set... the bidding went over $300 and I stopped bidding with 1 minute left... I'm getting bitter just thinking about it... SIGH.

Also, you would need at least 2 sets of white/grey blank HHKB sets to match an 87U, and even then, you'll be missing the right shift, and many of the grey blank mods for the right side of the keyboard.

Is it true that RF stopped making all of their replacement keycaps? I know EK ran out of stock of stuff and everyone said that they stopped, but amazon.co.jp has lots of hiragana legend sets still up for sale, or is that just old stock slowly selling out?

My plan is to use my cherry blossom pink blanks for the mods, so 1 set of the HHKB blanks should do the numerics. Only problem I see is the \ key will have to be pink, not a big deal though. The other is wether I want to buy a second whole set of white blanks so F1-4 and F9-12 are white  :(

Mang... I wish I could feel that thing up. Any sound videos by any chance??? Hehehe. Still wondering if I should do the mod myself. That board just looks too awesome.

VesperBro, I don't have the audio setup to do a sound recording, and I am unable to compare it to another RF 87U, so I'm not sure if it would add anything.
I will however record a couple of videos and see how it goes. The rattle being gone is the best part of the mod for me; the silencing is just an added bonus. You should really do the mod if you have the time and will to punch all those buggers ;)

Depends how much you miss dedicated arrow keys.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect.

Tempted to get a HHKB-S just to see how different it feels from a silenced 660C. Although I do wish the HHKB-S came in black :(

I'm doing the same mod this week! Can't wait.

Best of luck! I hope you get it done swiftly and without issue. It's an excellent mod once it's done. During; not so much.

That can be said about any mod haha
