I think that may be a rubber dome. There were some rubber dome M2s that were made without the weird border that appears on the most common rubber dome M2s.

Either way, $35 is not a good price for an M2 which may need to be fixed.

I think these came with IBM aptivas.  I got my rubber dome m2 with a neighbors old aptiva system.  It's actually a suprizingly good rubber dome board, it's just not $35 good. I'm not positive, but it may use the same dome design as rubber dome model Ms.
IBM Model M (\'91), IBM M2 (BS), IBM M2 (dome), Fujitsu FKB4700 (peerless), Dell AT101W (black alps), Acer 6311 (phony alps), Focus 5001 (white alps w/ calculator!), IBM Selectric (gen 1)

I wonder...could you swap the domes with springs on a dome M2?

You can put springs in, but the keycaps wont be compatible.

I bought this for $20 (I was feeling generous).  I have a M2 I refurbished with all new BS assemblies (springs/plates) that has the big case bottom.  Buying this for the bottom case (and top, if it is in better condition).
