Ugh, PBR.  I had a terrible night in Chicago after drinking one.  That was after, like, 2 Sam Adams, 2 bottles of wine (shared with my GF), and 2 Guinnesses (Guinnessai?).  I found it funny that they still make and sell Hamm's up there.  ****ing hipsters.

Ca ne me plait pas.

s'il vous plait (If it pleases you).

not

si vous plait (If you please).

You can tell by the conjugation of the verb "plaire". "plait" is for il/elle, not vous. VOUS plaisez.

Comprenez-vous?

my fiance works for mars, most don't know what mars makes until i say m&m/milky way/snickers, then ppl are like OH MARS!, so she recently had an international convention of chocolate and when she brought that stuff back, i literally had to foce myself not to try out everything.
in the end i summerize, china chocolate looks the cutest (has the cutest packaging), euro chocolate tastes a bit too soury, and it's true all the chocolate from russia is flavored w/ vodka!

never understood pocky, it doesn't taste that good, and like most asian snacks its meant to have a "hint" of taste. I've had pocky since i was like toddler, literally cuz it's so cute parents buy em for kids to eat. I think pocky is probably just as iconic as the hershey bar, hershey bar drums up thoughts of the good ol times and thats why it keeps on trucking on, just like pocky drums up good times of childhood and i guess gives ppl who watch anime a "i got to have that, to eat and interact so i can be in the anime" kind of feeling.

There may be a future iteration in that I have just learned that the Danish/Norweigan for "lion" is "love" (where the o has a line through it, but I don't know how to make the character on the keyboard- yet).  Very significant since my actual given name is Chinese: love + bright, pure, true, or clear, bell.

'Ų' is the character you're looking for, it's pronounced as the 'eu' in 'bleu'. Google uses 'oe' as a substitute for kbd-layouts without it, and 'oe' is usually referenced as the way of pronouncing 'Ų'

no idea, but it's not the symbol you need, but the method of entering unicode characters in windows... Also it COULD be a part of the ASCII character map, not sure...

according to:
http://www.fileformat.info/tip/microsoft/enter_unicode.htm
Quote
Method 1: Universal
This method works regardless of any of your language settings, but is the most cumbersome to type.

Press and hold down the Alt key.
Press the + (plus) key on the numeric keypad.
Type the hexidecimal unicode value.
Release the Alt key.

can't test, no windows machine.

I lauched my VM just to test this.

Windows is weird and actually had a code to enter that is different from the hex value:

If you wan't to know how to find this out:

start > run > charmap

then either locate the charter of interest, or copy/paste one into the text field.

at the bottom it tells you the info you need:

U+00D8: Latin Capital Letter O with stroke (ripster's favourite)

Keystroke: Alt+0216

30 only sucks if you let it.  I don't.  I do more these days than I ever did, and I am probably in the best shape I have been in for years.  On top of all of that I have the perspective of those 30 years to make the most out of everything I do.  I stay active, have fun, drink, and **** a lot.  I do not sit on the couch and watch TV.  There's a world out there to enjoy.  Take some meds for the ass-burgers, get out of the house, and discover what's out there.  That's why I am only on GH during work hours.

Thread derailment back to the original topic (by a newbie)!

My original internet name was dodokiller as a retort to a friend changing his AIM acct name to something random involving dodos every 8 days (i.e. freefallingdodo). I also appreciate the fallacy of claiming to actively kill dodos.

Later, when making a new World of Warcraft (a game which I sadly/happily no longer play) character, I wanted a name that reflected the theme of hunting dodos but had already used Dodohunter. I then recast the name of Al Gore's quixotic beast to serve my purposes: Manbeardodo.

The final evolution of my name arose when I joined a raiding guild whose members were incapable of reading Man-bear-dodo; many people thought my name was pronounced Man-beard-odo and the nickname Manbeardo was settled upon.

I like the name Manbeardo now because it reflects my reluctance to shave.
